I never got why people say Capaldi’s seasons had bad writing. Season 9 had some of the best episodes! 8 was rocky but had some hits (Flatline, Listen, Mummy on the Orient Express) and 10 was a better final season than Matt Smith got.

Partially because the budgets were so low that the writing suffered as a result. Rather than cutting the episode order to concentrate the budget, they constantly wrote around the interesting stuff and showed us boring things instead, and Bill's entire season was bad writing.

@@themehtlykrewe I disagree completely. Art is a response to limitation- they made incredible episodes with what they had. You can’t look at something like Heaven Sent and think “boy, they were scraping.” You’re too busy being wowed by the quality.

@@kataphrut7740 Heaven Sent is a shining gem in a sea of nonsense. Whether it's a response to limitations or not is irrelevant. Their limitations destroyed the series. Even Eddie Van Halen couldn't play Eruption with a broken guitar.

@@themehtlykrewe Cant get behind what you’re saying at all. I think the Capaldi era was the strongest run of the modern show, not counting the 50th anniversary specials. It had the most going on thematically- each series was a conversation about the Doctor. There was a depth and an introspection to it- that ran all the way from the early seasons eight eps of “what kind of man am I?” to his last stand at the end. And at no point watching that did I find myself thinking “well this is nice, but it’s ruined because Steven Moffat didn’t get a 10% bigger haggis budget.”

@@kataphrut7740 Even when instead of showing us adventures, we'd come in right afterwards? What about Face The Raven, where they had the budget to show one shot of aliens and everything else was "holograms" so they could have regular humans instead? People are cheap to film. Costumes take sometimes hours to put on. Animatronics likewise. How many episodes of the Capaldi era had significantly worse special effects than even Eccleston's first season? And likewise, how many episodes were just completely worthless in terms of developing the plot? I'd reckon half of Capaldi's early episodes could be cut without losing the thematic weight of the episodes. It's unfortunate that the episodes of Capaldi's era where I thought "This feels like a Doctor Who episode," were so light on the ground until his final season that I can name them off. Mummy on the Orient Express, Heaven Sent and The Husbands of River Song. Those are the ones that most felt like they were as high a quality as the rest of the New Who series.

Goku vs Superman 3 is gonna suck, we already know the outcome, so I think we can skip right ahead to the end. And no, the multiverse shenanigans Goku gets into in Super or Dragon Ball Heroes doesn't change the outcome in the slightest. I have no faith whatsoever in the upcoming fight, so why can't we just say "The Winner is Superman" call it a day, then announce the season finale?
