I dont get why some people either dont listen or ig are too hurt to see facts of what Death Battle said. This wasnt a stomp at all, it was stupid close. They had to look at the smallest things in order to get even a semblance of a "winner". And the thing is even if you "negated" most of there points like the soul destroying or the bell stuff. Bill is still smarter, can see the future in multiple weird ways AND has way more experience. As they said, Discord basically never had to fight a being like Cypher before (only thing close to that seemingly was Cosmos which ended up just being imprisioned rather then killed) all the while Bill has dealt with reality warpers many times throught his literal trillion year existence. Even if Bill couldnt end Discord, so too couldnt Discord end Bill. The only thing they could do to eachother is imprisoning, and considering Bill "won" I think its safe to say that if there was to be a rematch he would just cut to the chase and imprison Discord somewhere, someway. I say this btw as a fan of both but who knows only really the basics tbh (before the watching the DB of course). The argument they put thou was sound and loved both the fight and the ending.

Discord has never had any trouble going anywhere he wants like Bill does, so it's unlikely there's anywhere Bill could put Discord that he couldn't get out of, in contrast to Bill who can't really go to other dimensions without someone opening a door

@@mystrenula3911 I would accept that except for the fact the only "dimension" that Bill couldnt get out of was the Nightmare realm which specifically has "barriers" that are strong enough to hold even someone as strong as Bill (and even then he can eventually get out). Before he got there however Bill not only killed everyone and everything in his own home dimension but also hopped dimensions/universes so much he became a threat to the Interdimensional authority. Based on this i think its pretty clear to say that Bill can freely travel through most realms/dimensions with little to no problem. Its just the Nightmare realm specifically, that is harder for Bill to leave once he is inside. And about the "imprisioning" part, really its much simplier then just trapping one of them in either the Nightmare realm or just another dimension or something. Simply find a way to weaken there powers, put them in a place that they would be completely unable to get out of on there own and bam thats done. How thats achieved depends, cutting off there power in some way shape or form, locking them somewhere where there power has no affect or even just shut there brain off in some way and make them fall asleep for who knows how long. They can do basically anything. Options is something neither of them lack.

Unlike other fights where they claim it was a close match but do a poor job at doing so (tatsumaki vs mob anyone?), this one was actually close. Unlike other fights, power, durability, and speed are essentially meaningless since these guys are capable a lot of the same feats, so it came down to experience and their small exclusive arsenals.

The reason Bill "lost" to the kids is because Bills flaw was super tunnel visioning on getting into Ford Pines mind. Discord usually loses because he simply is just having too much fun being CHAOS and doesn't really take much seriously. I don't think it's fair to say he just lost to kids and Discord lost to adults when we're talking about 2 insanely powerful beings that, if not for plot, would have easily beaten their counterparts (the kids and ponies). However I do firmly believe that no matter how many times they fight, the results would be the same. Bill winning the fight/deathbattle, but discord winning the war/bigger picture battle. With all that being said, great reaction, this DB is my favorite so far, they really outdid themselves in every facet with this one. Shocked this wasn't the season finale tbh haha

Actually, I can see a few times where Discord wins if he takes the fight seriously. Not all the time though since Bill has far better experience.

The fight is the conflicting/confusing part of the argument against bill winning except discord was taking bill seriously he just showing it on his face (aka during the beginning of the fight) discord tried to eat bill and when that didn’t work he realized he needed to free the other ponies without bill realizing which caused him to trap bill within his own mind and eventually dimension and only reason discord kept fighting was for the ponies’s sake without them he would probably died/given up/ran away earlier

@25:54 bill won the battle but discord took advangtage of his arrogance and one way tunnel vison and freed his friends so like everyone is saying "bill won the battle but discord won the war" discord played bill right from the start and used his focus on the fight to free everyone, even at the cost of sacrificing himself. and like some have hinted at he might have even known he only had a 50/50 chance of winning with bill so he left a little note for fulttershy.

A lot of people seem to over look the lock bill put on discord near the end that is a complete lock down ability not only trapping discord inside but making all outside stuff null and void and the people would argue then how did discord send bill back that was already in motion it just took a while

im fine with the outcome even if i dont agree, atleast they tried to make it more a tie...even tho they could have just actually made it a tie by showing Discord reforming after the fight ended, like a after credits scene. I kinda do agree they have a bias towards Bill due to some facts they mentioned, like saying Bill was more powerful despite this never having been said and the shows/comics even show the opposite due to Discord doing way more shit then Bill ever did but even ignoring that the worst feat was the regeneration, they said Bill has better regeneration which is an actual asspull, there is an entire scene in the Finale of Gravity Falls where they manage to stop Bill for a bit due to taking out his eye and him getting hurt and having to take a few minutes to regrow it, Discord had NEVER taken long to regenerate anything and even can just take off his bodyparts, like when he played Minigolf with his Eyeballs. a side piece for me is also that Bill in the show gained multiple ways to be defeated, while Discord never had any that Bill could use. Oh yeah and the his spirit being weak is also kinda BS in the epsidoe its never stated its his spirit in anyway thats weakening all that happended is Discord tried to be normal which made him disapear it had nothing to do with his spirit dying only him betraying his nature and even if we go with it being the spirit he then in the same episode showed that he CAN regrow his spirit since he went back to normal after causing some chaos.

I would argue Discord fighting against Bill Cipher would go against his nature. After all, think about this matchup in particular. Bill’s entire thing is that he causes chaos. Wouldn’t Discord trying to stop him and kill him go against his nature since he is actively going against a ‘source of chaos’? Discord have to forcefully be chaotic just to exist and to retain his powers while Bill Cipher has no such obligation. The only way Discord even stands a chance is that Bill Cipher and his Weirdness is inherently chaotic and thus can draw power from that.(However I would argue that Bill still benefits more since he directly draws power from the Weirdness while the only reason Discord also benefits is that the Weirdness is coincidentally chaotic in nature.) Also you claim his has several ways to be killed… yet fail to elaborate on what said ways are. The only canon one is having his existence forgotten by being erased in a mortal mind. This is a very specific win condition while replicable Bill isn’t stupid enough to allow happen again. Also the reason they state that Bill is stronger is because his 4th Wall manipulation is ‘stronger’. The reason I say this is because Bill has canonically broke out of his fiction and even hijacked the mind of the author of his series, moreover it’s heavily implied he invaded our real world since there’s an entire ARG where the conclusion is a real life Bill Cipher statue that can be shaken hands with. Discord at most interacted with his book directly and made references to stuff that should only exist in our reality, beyond that we have no evidence that Discord ever canonically leave his fictional reality to enter ours the same way Bill did. Also your point that Discord can heal his own soul is blatantly false, he never healed from direct damage and the only time he did was when his very existence is fading away due to not being chaotic and him being chaotic stabilised him. To my knowledge, Discord never directly healed spiritual damage since we never observe his soul being directly damaged and thus healed. Thus for the sake of fairness we assume he doesn’t have the capability. All this is especially relevant since it is highly likely both characters would know each other and their weaknesses, bypassing the ‘No previous experience or knowledge of the opponent’ rule since they would likely know each other by 4th Wall shenanigans. So Bill would likely know to go for the kill immediately and to, shockingly, cause as little chaos as possible. I think people tend to forget that Bill causes chaos for shits and giggles, unlike Discord, he isn’t actually obligated to cause chaos. So what’s really stopping him from blasting Discord’s soul to oblivion the minute conflict start and don’t cause chaos? Like laser beams and soul fire aren’t really chaotic so it’s unlikely Discord would benefit from that. Remember, Bill Cipher is an agent of chaos not the embodiment. So he can technically do anything he damn well pleases without the same strings attached the way Discord is. Conclusion? Discord has way more clauses attached to his powers than people realise and that’s a real problem when he faces someone who has practically the same powers but without any of the requirements.

Bill won the battle, discord won the morals. Neither won the war because they will both come back, discord will come back and bill will eventually es ape again and it will start all over again, although bill wont fall for the same tricks of discord and vise versa. Neither of these in the long run can win as it would go on forever since neither have the power to destroy the other forever
