Janab mehndi hassan sahib was the king of ghazal gaiki without doubt.Noone after him ,will ever be able to pperform ghazal in such a classical way,he took ghazal gaiki to the highest peak. The versatility he shows in his every performance illustrates his grandeur and calibre in sur and music .

What's so special with the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was the fact that he could capture the imagination of the listeners, while performing, by casting a web around them, and carry them, along with the rhythm - owing to his magical voice and inimitable style of gayiki ! To be very true the great Khan Saab had always upheld the primacy of INSANIYAT(HUMANISM) and MOHABBAT(LOVE) in the life of an individual during his illustrious career spanning over almost six decades, as an exceptional exponent of ghazal gayiki ! He was a multi - dimensional and multi - disciplinary singer, proving his worth in every fatet of the Hindustani Music - be it classical modern, or playback singing in films ! Someone like this will ever tread this path again in the world ! Delighted to listen to this magnificient treat - in the soulful voice of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab - all over again - ofcourse in a different orientation ! What a beautiful composition it was ! How soulfully did Maestro perform it ! Here, in this ghazal, it was as if the great Mehdi Hassan Saab had infused life into the beautiful lafz of the shayar with the exact feel, as depicted in the kalam, owing to his inimitable style of gayiki ! Besides, he had something very special in his voice, which had separated him from all of his contemporaries and juniors ! Sourav Suman Saab deserves special mention for his untiring efforts in unearthing the rarest of the rare gems of the Maestro over the years and sharing it with the viewers so as to entertain them with the never diminishing beauty of good soulful music! Look forward to many more of the genre in the days to come !
