King of ghazals ustad mehdi hassan sings salim gilani's ghazal.
this private mehfil was held in vancouver canada in 1977 at the residence of former pakistani play back singer salim raza (jaane baharan fame).
salim raza migrated to canada in the 70's where he opened a music school in vancouver.
he was a very good friend of khan sahib mehdi hassan.

I sat at Mehdi Hasan Sahab's house several times. I was friends with his eldest son Arif Mehdi. I never found Ustad Mehdi Hassan delicated I found him very simple and friendly, but it's very sad that he never leave any legacy of his unique art in his family's. I pray for him that may Allah SubhanWataala forgiveness him and grant him high rank in Jannah Ameen.❤🤲🤲🤲

In another sitting of this ghazal, Khan saheb himself states, in the beginning before starting, that the first line is in Malhaar and the second line is in Bahaar. I had the actual recording in the early 80s.
