We should learn from these great musicians from both Pakistan and India they truly do not see any difference between the two countries ,they have equal number of followers in both countries and perform there. As one of them quoted If we have music and love in our hearts there is no room for hate. I hope India and Pakistan will live like brothers because we really are brothers .

I know Mehdi Hasan from my school days, he had never talk about the religion with any one I was to learn from each and every day when he used to have a cycle shop at Bunder Road , Karachi. next to Radio Pakistan. Please refrain from this kind of issues, Public should be grateful to him and his voice which is the gift of God..

Thanks Boss! The first one (her justuju) I heard it for the first time. What a ghazal! Is the audio CD/tape available? Whatever was available in India I have them. Some I got from Pakistan a couple of years back. Some I have downloaded from net. We will never have such a voice in future!

With all due respect...how did this element of religion came to your mind. Mehdi Hassan would have been the same and equally respected had he been a non muslim. You may think whatever but keep it within your mind. Please refrain from such comments on a public forum. It leaves a bad taste. Till date I believed Khan Sb's voice takes one to a level of ecstasy where everything becomes just fine but now i feel its not the case with some.

Why are you taking away this beautiful ghazal from Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib. Are you not aware that he uses his name (taqalus) in the maqtaa or the last stanza. It is really a surprise to see people like you come on this site and show your extreme lack of knowledge of those things that have been established a very long time ago. Please get educated or not write demeaning statements about things you do not have the knowledge. This ghazal was written by Ghalib in a letter to a friend.
