This film is groundbreaking in that it deals with returning servicemen having PTSD and dealing with that in their own ways.

Myrna Loy never winning an Oscar is such a huge oversight. I cannot imagine what the Academy was doing.

Thanks, for putting these scenes together. The second scene was so wonderful. There have been so many times when I felt like Sgt. Anderson here. (Also... didn't know that Lt. Tragg from Perry Mason was in this movie.)

Sorry. No foolish scenes here. One of the greatest movies ever made. Great actors, great story when our wonderful country really knew what mattered. . The greatest generation for sure

I see not much has changed since that movie was produced. The rich get richer and the working/fighting man is screwed. Is there one man that can stand up and fix society? Nope not one man but all men could if they had a mind to.

When were the rich not getting richer in history? As a person who's got over 600 books on all types of historical events and people's.... when is the time in your opinion when the working man wasn't getting screwed?

You are missing the point, you can't fix society. But you can work on yourself. It's not other people's responsibility or fault. Fix yourself.

He stands up against the pompous Banker Capitalist and realizes he is fighting for the common American against the Capitalist Profiteer

Crony capitalist, I say.

Not exactly, he isn't standing up for the "common American" he is soft hearted to another war veteran who didn't have collateral, and approved the loan due to him being a war veteran as well.

He's not standing up at all. If he really stood up, he'd be out of a job and lose that nice ritzy apartment and car he and his family were living in. He knew how far to go...lol

The scene was foolish. The collateral would be the land being purchased with a mortgage on the land. The GI loans were also subsidized by the government. I can understand why it was done, for dramatic purposes, but factually it was false.
@rickbruner55254 ай бұрын
Tell that to the hundreds of thousands of Black veterans whose applications for GI loans were turned down.

@@rickbruner5525 Nonsequitur since the scene in the movie didn't involve a black vet.
