Recently I discovered Meike's channel, she is an excellent instructor. This video is one of the best I've seen and I think will correct the problems I'm having with my forehand. Thanks Ms Babel!!

Must say that watched 4 videos before and again your explanations made "click" in my head so I know what to work on with my forehand. Thank you ❤

Meike, I discovered your channel just some days ago. I do congratulate with you. Your lessons are what intermediate players really need. Good technique but suitable also for people who do not compete in the tour. Very nice!

Closing the racquet on forehand - I find it easier mit proper grip - for instance semi western or western.

Dropping the left hand is like being put in a straight jacket. I like to put right palm under the butt cap and the left palm on top edge of racket. Have clients load up like hitting a forehand and focus on left hand going up 10 times to build that muscle menory.

Meike, you are an excellent coach, thank you so much for sharing your content! One request... please look into changing the microphone settings so that your videos are louder. I find that I can watch videos on 5 different tennis channels and hear them all just fine, but on your videos I have to crank the volume up. Again, thanks for the fantastic content!

@@MeikeBabelTennis I've got the second problem you've mentioned and in the last 12 months I've been trying to catch the racquet. However I've found my left shoulder is opening too early and my left arm is not folding enough, which means my hand is dropping to waist height at it's lowest point and then rising after to catch the racquet on the follow through

At 05:30, the student is in a semi-open stance. With front left foot pointing towards right net post. I find it more comfortable to have front left foot more open and pointing towards the net -- I find that this more open left foot position more easily facilitates hip rotation. Is it acceptable to do this with the left foot on semi-open stance or does this left foot position risk opening up the hips too soon? 🤔

Mistake 2 is a symptom not a cause, he muscles the ball with his racket arm - you can see it being pulled into the body as he swings forward, and when you do that the natural thing to do is pull the other arm in the opposite direction (down and in) to counter balance. Both the pro's you show let the racket arm swing away from the body as it swings it forward which you can't really do while muscling it, and then it whips over when the hips have turned. The off arm will probably naturally do the right thing if you get that right.

Nothing wrong to let the ball drop. You lost time but gain control. It is just wrong to hit a low ball with straight knees.

I am pulling my elbow into my body. I think it is a combo of not keeping my elbow away from my body on the take back and misjudging the ball and I'm too close to the ball. Does that sound right?
@MeikeBabelTennis2 жыл бұрын
I'd say yes without seeing the stroke

Jason's right shoulder is too much behind. He will have more power and rotation if he hit bit earlier so his right shoulder at front.
