Hey, I just bought them. And first problem is turn signal, once you press them there are 2 way to turn them of 1. press same direction turn signnal again, this is work find but!! the remote's turn signal indecator still flashing AND there are no guarantee that turn signal are off after you do that (it has no handshake to make sure that RF signal sent to the device) 2. use big '!' button BUT it will changed light mode too

What button do you have to press to stop the turn signal? I want to use turn signal to change a lane while riding an electric scooter and be able to turn off the turn signal when I want it to stop. I don't want turn signal keep flashing for a minute before it turns off on its own.

I do not ride daily in a consecutively long fashion. I ride weekends and occasional nights. This makes it difficult to judge how much actual run time it has been used for. I have noticed that when I store the bike, the charge does not seem to die in storage. As far as run time, I do not even have a test estimate, but it seems to last for a long time in storage without issue.

Just got this light in today from AliExpress where I paid $23.75 Canadian so Americans can get it for about $19U.S., it's a sale price but they have sales all the time. My mounts are different, the seat post mount is the typical ring with bolt on and the self adhesive rubber strip but it also came with a mount for the two bars under the saddle making it look like it was almost a part of the seat and keeping it just a little higher to help clear anything on the rack. But w;hen it comes time to change the battery in the remote you will need patience! Just a little flawed in the design, it's very hard to get it all back together without moving the circuit board you remove to change the battery. I think this is just to help keep it water tight but it could have been designed so you just slide the battery out to change it. But it's a great light, brighter than you might expect. And I can't remember what battery he mentioned but if it's the 18650 li-ion they have 9800Ah versions for around $2 at AliExpress as well, I use them frequently for other things and they are great batteries that deliver a good current, enough to burn you in less than a second! I bought one few days a go ... these days are dark days, and as a bicycle is my only transportation (next to public), it's import to be seen. Even in Belgium we have wacko's on the road. About the design, of the backlight, i love it !!! Installing is very easy, even someone with two left hands can do it. First day, it worked great ... love it, happy finally something cool for a bicycle, than those standard lights. Second day, it started ... few minutes later finito !!! Weird, thought i did something wrong. Check the manual, if i overlooked something. I had charged the backlight. And the in the remote, changed that battery ... because, the one in it, was low charged. Third day, same issue ... is it me, or is the thing i don't know, i have to figure this out. About the remote, to be honest ... it's a crappy thing. Bon, but it's than also a cheapo version. The turning signals ... cool, but with this remote control not cool. To know if it's out, i had to stop with my bicycle, and look. The flashing on the remote controle don't help. Also, it seems to have a stop light function ... to know if it works while i'm on the road, the backlight should be connected to somekind of dashboard, with indicator lights. Than i think all those functions will be awesome. The laser light, i find it cool (when the light works). I'm reading about it should not be that waterproof as promised ... damnnn ... we have in Belgium a lot of rainy days. Cross my fingers. Also we have in Belgium (like in my town) a lot of cobbler streats, bumbing roads ... from experience bumbs & led lights are no matching friends, i have to buy each minimum 2 years new lights for my bicycle, because they all go broke. But to the person who started this review, thumbs up !!! This is really a help full constructive review ... awesome !!!

Good review! I've been looking at this light for a while now and so far my only issue is that it's not very visible in daylight. I found a wireless turn signal set that's perfect for night and day and it's exactly what you were mentioning as far as the signals being flashing arrows. It also has lasers that has turned out to be one of my favorite features too. It doesn't have a brand name but you can find it on Amazon for about $50 or less. There's also some videos posted (none of my own) you can check out.

You can cover the light sensor with a piece of electrical tape for use during the day. Otherwise, it turns off after being turned on (during the day). However, if you go through a dark area (say an underpass, tunnel, or down unlit basement stairs) it will pop back on. There is no on/off switch for the light sensor, tape is the only option I am aware of.

+Sophia K Kevin was talking about turning the indicators off after you use them. Meaning if you push the button once the indicators come one, if you dont push the button again they stay on (for at least a few minutes). You have to push the button again to turn the indicators off.

It is a CR 2032 (or maybe a CR2025). Essentially one on those non-rechargeable flat silver batteries. But considering the low drain of the remote, would probably last a long time. I have one in my car remote than I change about once a year with many many uses

Flashing doesn't make you more visible. The reason why drivers give more room is that in dark places it is hard to pinpoint where the cyclist is because of the stupid flashing light. Flashing gives unneeded strobe effect. In some situations it makes visibility even worse. So use steady light or running light but not the flashing mode.

I bought Meilan X5 bike light. What I like: It looks so pretty. It works well. It`s main battery is rechargeable. It has light sensor. What I don`t like: When I want to select direction indicator, small red LED blinks on remote switch. That is OK. But when I want to switch it off, after pushing button again, small red LED blinks again. This is serious desing flaw. Also, animation of direction indicator looks somehow not clear. Maybe simple blinking of corner LEDs would be better.

While it is a minor irritant, categorizing it as main function not working properly makes me think you have not actually used the device. In low light conditions the blinker is clearly indicating what you are doing. The only way to do that in day light is to make the light so bright it is a distraction to those around you. Overall this product works fine. There are better products but they cost considerably more. Regardless of a few slight issues, this is a value-oriented product that DOES make your morning rides much safer.

I have 6 units, I love this led lights, but the the turning signal issue is really a big issue. You cannot notice if your turning signals are "OFF" which can confuse drivers behind you if you go all the time with any of both turn signals switched "ON". You don't have a way to know when your turn signal is off, and them does't have a short period timer, you can go with a turning signal on during minutes and you don't have a way to know because there is not feedback communication between the led module and the button panel where there is an indicator that could show it. So it is a hard bug in the software or a bad programming concern

Yeah, I don;t really have this issue often as I automatically turn it off. I drove a car where the turn signal wouldn't "pop back" like its supposed after turning. This essentially trained me to always turn it off (LOL). However, even with my auto-signal-off natural training, I have forgot a few times :/ . I do consider it a slight issue, but for the price I still stand by this unit as a good deal.

I would guess your light sensor is shorted out (or open circuit). YOu would need warranty service OR DIY: open up the unit and determine if the sensor is NO (normally open) or NC and change the logic manually (be either shorting it or opening it and leaving it that way. Upside: daylight mode deactivated Downside: it cannot be activated without changing the short/open that you created.

It seems fine to me. Admittedly I do not ride everyday (ESPECIALLY now that winter is here) but it works fine and holds a charge for a long time when not in use. The only complaint I have is that once you turn on the signals, they stay on until you turn them off. If you forget you signal forever. SOLUTION: DON;t Forget YOU HAVE YOUR SIGNALS ON

So if you press LEFT, sometimes, you are not confident whether the Tail Light is really showing LEFT Turn signal so you're confused whether to take the turn or not, lol

+Kevin Langstone I believe Kevin actually owns one as that was an issue. They do not turn off after a set time so you have to press the button again. It would be nicer if the control mechanism also had an indicator of what was going on (as the blinking is silent, unlike a car blinker). However you just get used to pushing it. Now that its nice out I have been Biking and I have used them twice already this Spring (after the review), as it JUST got nice in my location. They are not perfect but I feel they offer good value at the price. Can you get a better one? Yes! However they are also much more expensive. SO if you want a solid light for $30, here it is. If you want more than that, spend more that that :) I am more than willing to review more expensive bike tail lights if you want to send me one :)

It is water-resistant and has taken light rain without issue. Is it waterproof? NO! AN item must be able to completely submerged in water for it to be waterproof. VERY few electronic devices are waterproof. Some (like this one) are water-resistant...also called splash resistant (Ingress protection IP54).

Finally, i've got the product. The material of the tail light much better then i expected. The light is very bright and it has ambient sensor. Unfortunately, the wireless remote controller is not working properly. Can the remote repaired? I was contacted the seller and still waiting for his reply.

Well if you purchased through Amazon, have no fear as Amazon's return policy is heavily in the customers favor. I would not attempt repair and simply return the device. I would give you advice but a defective item is normally not worth repairing.

@@GadgetGuideUSA I will tell you that getting the remote cover off (to replace the coin battery) is going to challenge most people. You have to be VERY careful, or you will break the tiny plastic that secures the front of the cover, in which case the thing is toast. The method is raising that back latch, but ONLY until it JUST clears the top edge of the body, and then (with great difficulty) working the cover forward until is is free of the internal latch (the part you can easily break if you are not careful). Frankly, this design is rather poor, but thankfully you should not have to access it much. But as I say, one goof and that inner latch will break, and the until will not function, or function very poorly, after that.

Indicators suck and it isnt shock proof btw to turn off just press the same button to turn on and when using the indicators just press the same button again so the light goes back to main mode

Ouch, are you a mountain biker/extreme rider? I admit I am not rough on the indicator or my bike (rare for me) and mine still seems to be working fine. I am a light rider and generally ride a few hours here and there so I have not put too many miles on it.

Not by any standards...lol My hands look terrible from a life of experimentation (mixed with stupidity). The nerves on my palms barely register heat/cold. They have problems due to exposure to concrete (nasty stuff). They (my hands) have also been exposed to MANY chemicals (I am a biochemist) I have electrocuted, burned, and broke most of my fingers (more than once)

I wouldn't go that far. If you purchased from amazon, at least you can return it. Mine is still working but I'll admit ive maybe only used it for 15-20 rides and charged it 5-10 times.

@@27Naku When you plug it into USB, it should slowly flash. When it is entirely charged it stays on and red. It takes some time to fully charge. I don't know how much charge the unit has when shipped, but I took it for a 2 hour ride with the light on, and it required about 3 to 3 1/2 hrs to fully charge when I got back.

Being a motorist who has just acquired a bicycle, I think this product is useless. In my car I would not know what on Earth these flashing lights on a bike meant. Direction indicators are required on a bicycle that look exactly like direction indicators on any other vehicle or motorbike, not something that appears to have been stolen from a UFO.

Talk about Drivers Not Respecting Bicyclists, Freaking Bicyclists always slowing up traffic.. And then aiming Headlight/Taillight Strobe Lights into the eyes of drivers to go along with it... This looks like a decent product and I watched your video to help my decision. I am purchasing this from Amazon now. But I'm not some Fool that thinks it's okay to ride in traffic when there is no room and cannot even safely do the speed limit..... I understand that Some people don't have Any Other Means Of Transportation but those people that Choose to be out in traffic DO SO AT THE RISK OF ALL OF US NOT JUST THEMSELVES...... Most roads are not designed for sharing the road with bicycles and the "2 Inches" that Drivers give is What You Get when you're out there where you should not be, slowing down traffic. Acting like you have a right to make the rest of us Watch Out For You so we don't accidentally fatally injure someone, that shouldn't be out there in traffic in the first place.... Nuff Said.......

While I agree that cyclists need to be responsible riders, cities really need to put a plan in place. If we are truly going towards reducing carbon emissions (I do NOT want this to turn into a climate change argument) and green transportation (and all that), then cities need to do more work to encourage cycling like bike lanes. The fault of the few irresponsible bikers should not be placed at all cyclists.
