Homuras witch form is pretty depressing. She’s being dragged by her wrists to a guillotine, but can never reach it. She’s constantly awaiting her death, to be released from her horrible reality, but she won’t ever get the salvation she so craves. Most destruction was caused by the bow hand things on her back, which could represent her wishing to go back again and redo everything. Besides that, as a witch, she doesn’t seem to care to destroy or kill anything. She’s forever doomed to solemnly walk to the death that will never happen.

I love how it takes Mada Dame Yo's motif and makes it aggressive and yet longing. It's like Homura knows she has to die here, but even so, even in her storm of mindless despair, she's saying "Not yet, I want to stay with Madoka! Just a bit longer!" But that's the thing about love. It just keeps you coming back for more.

First of all, let us praise our lesbian Satan. An analysis I've read somewhere that builds upon all the other imageries of the spider lilies, Homura's eternal march towards the guilottine, the hand-ribbons on her back, and her familiars: -Homulily is termed "The Nutcracker Witch" - after the walnut-cracking devices that is only usable for one thing, cracking walnuts. Once the nuts are gone (i.e. when Madoka has disappeared), the nutcracker/Homura would lose her purpose in life (she tried to save Madoka, but could never achieve it in any timelines, and now she doesn't even have Madoka to protect anymore). Thus, she would start to sink into despair. -In her second form, she lost the top half of her head, including the upper jaw. She can't possibly bite (crack) anything with only the lower jaw, thus indicating the loss of her role and purpose as a nutcracker (protecting Madoka). -The teeth familiars, unlike Homura, could still bite and chew stuff, serving as a derision towards their master herself -At one point, those teeth familiars shot out pumpkins as projectiles, alluding to the scene where Hitomi's Nighmare was sealed, in which Homura called herself a pumpkin. Pumpkins themselves being an image linked to witches, so this would work more as a foreshadowing in the Nighmare scene itself, but in the fight against Homulily, they serve as a nice back-allusion
