Here's my review of Meinl Cymbal Cleaner. My initial impression was wrong, and I changed my mind as I went. I am not a paid rep for the company, but just a drummer like you.

Thanks for making this. Can't seem to find many videos on the meinl stuff

You're welcome. I had looked for a video on this cleaner before I purchased it, and also couldn't find much information. I love my Meinl cymbals though.

necesitas aplicar el polish para raspar esa suciedad eso solo abrillanta la superficie

This is why I never use nylon tip sticks. No cymbal cleaner will ever remove them. The plastic permanently marks the surface and it will not come off unless you sand, grind, or re-lathe the cymbal. And by coincidence I have a set of 12" Amun hats. I love them, only B8 cymbals I own.

Yeah, that's true. I love the sound of nylon, and have never liked the wood tip because they peel. It's a give and take I guess.

Actually? Man I love nylon. 😂
@oldowl42903 жыл бұрын
@@tulrid7550 I should've been more clear. I love the sound of nylon too (and wood) but nylon for me is not worth the hassle due to the cymbal marring. As a substitute, I prefer oak sticks or red hickory which are close enough.

@@oldowl4290 I just got a Byzance brilliant china recently, and it already has those nasty marks on them. Never thought about the cause of the marks, didn't realize it was a nylon thing. I might switch to Vic Firth round tips as an alternative.

Thank you for your video man. I bought the same product here in Panama but it came with the protectant too. The price here is just insane ($32). I hope this works!.

Wow, that is pricey. Let me know how it works for you.

Looking at the video without sound, I can see this did nothing in the the way of cleaning - washing-up liquid would have probably more.. Seems that new rules on dangerous substances means nobody will be making a real cymbal cleaner any time soon. To clean a cymbal that has lost any of the protective coating, you will need something abrasive. Paiste cleaner was one of the best, but the harsh chemicals have not been allowed by the EU. Zildjian cleaner went the same way as a lot of sales will be outside of the USA. A good sliver cleaner will be slightly abrasive, less so than a standard brass cleaner. If your cymbals are really dirty, that is the only route. DO NOT USE A BUFFING MACHINE ON A CYMBAL. Jewellery cleaners went down the same route, and now most are just a detergent for removing grime, not oxidization, which is what the cymbals suffer with. Once you have cleaned them, remember to use cotton gloves every time you handle them, and wipe them down after gigs before you put them away. Sadly most of us don't have the luxury of time to do this when gigging, so we really do need a decent cymbal cleaner.

Hmm. A lot of interesting info there. This product is definitely better than soap and water if that's what you are saying.

I have tried them all, hot water and dish soap works the same, these are all a rip off... the best way is too use a buffer

Interesting. I've read that it matters if you have brilliant as opposed to regular cymbals.

@@ER_aka_RAM did you clean the sand cymbals? How did you do it and how did it work?

Spytron Glad I waited as Meinl just made comment directly that they’re not to be cleaned! The finish was made to age, and keep it’s vintage appearance.
