I have an 18” Dual Crash and just got the 20” Extra Thin Hammered Crash. What do you think would be a nice 19” to sit in between them?
@tillgerke94813 жыл бұрын
@@carsonswitalski9098 so the 20“ has a pretty long sound, the dual crash is a little bit shorter and pretty trashy so maybe the 18“ vintage pure crash. Bright, not trashy, and not as long sound

Do you guys have all these cymbals in store because I’d love to try some out
@bostondrum6 жыл бұрын
No, the Cymbal Tour is a traveling selection of 75 or more pieces; the ones that don't sell go on to the next stop. We hosted it back in March. We may be doing it again this year or next, so keep an eye on our website.

I don't understand small cymbals
@blackasthesky3 жыл бұрын
For crashes I prefer 16 to 18", for chinas 16" to 17", for rides 21" and up. For HiHats it's 14" and up. So basically medium sized. What do you use?
@Catinthehackmatrix Жыл бұрын
Well small cymbals are what they record on a lot, then they use larger ones live, don't they?
@michaelbrown3128 Жыл бұрын
I used to not be a huge fan of small cymbals all that much. But if you need just a small punch of a crash sound, and not last ringing out forever they are great. Same with splashes, but I find you get a nice little accent and flare from a splash cymbal. I guess it has to do with what kind of music your playing? But if you get a small opening for a quick drum fill on a pause, you can make a quick little fill sound great!

Completely disapointed in those! I only liked 1 of them! Crap!

you have shit taste and need a hearing aid
@michaelbrown3128 Жыл бұрын
@@robbledot7290 trust me, I don't need hearing aids. I'm not talking about the trash crashes. That is a whole different thing. I'm talking about regular crash cymbals. Meinl has the pure alloy crashes, the pure alloy custom, the soundcaster fision and byzance brilliants are great. But all these duals, and extra dry, etc. to me aren't that good sounding. I'm a Paiste guy, but love Zildjian A custom, Sabian HHX complex, and Sabian AAX crashes. I like warmth, crisp, clear, without the cymbal sustain lasting a whole minute. So believe me I have good taste! I just know what a good crash cymbal is supposed to sound like!

If you loved all those crashes for a drum kit, maybe you should think about just being a percussionist, and not sit behind a drum kit! Then you can have all the crazy wacked out sounds you like. I got a couple of metal garbage can lids you can use too! They would probably sound like good crash cymbals for you in the subway!!! Lol!
