I use a few drums from different makers. Which one are you referring to?

thanks for review! but why are you don't try pickup handpan?)
@maxandchloemeditation2 жыл бұрын
Hello! I do. But when you have close to 40 pans….. having all of them with internal pickups is “kinda hard”!

Thank you for this demonstration. I don't know anything about technology at all and am now wondering whether this system would also work if you just plug it directly only into a loudspeaker. Maybe with an adapter?
@maxandchloemeditation3 жыл бұрын
I am assuming the loudspeaker- you meant a home stereo? it will work but you may need to get an adapter - 1/4" to RCA(assuming you are connecting to the home stereo-and that , usually RCA but depends on your system). And you have to "play" with the volume a bit. Be careful. and remember to turn down the volume-if its set "UP"- the person that use the stereo next might be in for a "blast off"/LOUD surprise. Its probably cheaper to get an amp. Guitar amp will do as well but you may have to play with the EQ a bit.The Roland Micro Cube is the perfect companion for the drum/pick-up. I got mine off Facebook marketplace for $45.00

Cool video. I’ve been using a SM 57 for my Meinl tongue drum and I bet this would be a cleaner more articulate sound.
@maxandchloemeditation3 жыл бұрын
@@christianrooversmusic sm57 is awesome. That was my choice as well along with the at2020. Tried with my matching pair U87 Poooof no good. Classic sm57 and sm58. Tried and true!

5:35 : the drum is resonating what is coming out of the speaker and feeding back into the pickup To solve: move speaker to a position that it wont send vibrations into the drum Amiright?
@maxandchloemeditation2 жыл бұрын
hey Cheyenne, yes. the video was just a test- the Boss RC505 mkII. my speakers were less than 2 feet away from the drum/pickup. I will be using the microcube during my sessions.(which will be 5-8ft away)

I have forgotten about these magnetic piezo pickups! would you recommend this or other ones to get a clearer recorded tongue drum sound?
@maxandchloemeditation Жыл бұрын
Most tongue drums(Amazon) are not magnetic- so you may have to use stick-on piezo pickups.The Meinl pick-up is decent-FOR the PRICE. I do sense a bit of harmonic losses using pickups but definitely a blessing if you just want "sound amplification "- that's why most people prefer mic-ed.A stereo pair of condenser mics can/will capture the sounds perfectly- harmonics, overtones....ambience etc. As far as the "definition of clean sounds" - you will definitely get a clearer tone(again, minus some harmonics) but for tone/pitch projection , it's perfect. Right now, I have 3 piezo pickups- 1 basic stick-ons but I hacked it to use with magnets-- kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmmlc2psn618odE. 2nd one is the Meinl(as per video). 3rd is the one I got from ETSY. All said, they are all more of less the same. Pros and cons on each.Using EQs can/usually correct the issue(s) on each mentioned. Hope I answered your question(s). Have a blessed day.

I got to buy it for my nataraj tongue drum
@maxandchloemeditation Жыл бұрын
hello! BUT, Please make sure your that the tongue drum is "magnetic". Its a great way too, to tune the drum if it's dropped/sliglty damaged. All the best. have a blessed day!
@urbextrip1 Жыл бұрын
@@maxandchloemeditation I see, "nataraj" is magnetic, so this attachment is suitable. Previously, I bought a Chinese one from AliExpress, but I had to glue it with hot silicone and it peeled off over time. Anyway, it's worth investing in better equipment. Thank you for your answer. Greetings from Poland
