I appreciate metal drummers like Jaska who don't have to play 800 bpm to be a good drummer.
@GreenDayRoxer112 жыл бұрын
Normally I don't find drumming solos very captivating, but man Jaska can drum. it is refreshing to see this style after hearing his drumming in Bodom, and it is very nice to know that a musician can excel in a style other than what he plays in the band.

Jaska is one of my favourite drummer cause he doesn't only play metal. He can play a lot of different things in many styles. He's very estimable

People need to remember this guy is a humble drummer. U have to really study their music hard to see all of his skill. I have listened to them since 2003 and still finding great playing he did that I missed. He is one of the best metal drummers in the world. Thank you Jaska for playing with such skill over all the years. It is noticed!!

jaska is a truly jazz fan(search for interviews), and i don't know if anybody else thinks the same but, he actually was playing a lot of jazz beats in this vid.

on eof the best days in my life; after the show i went to the stage, and (why ever) there were only kids. then i came with my cob-shirt, he saw me and came to me for shaking hands and talking about 3 minutes^^ later i was allowed to take a photo with him. i'm so damn proud and by the way: there are maybe many drummers that are faster, more technical or "better" in ohter ways, but i just like his drumming more than most other drummers. jaska ftw!!
@Tamaradrummer16 жыл бұрын
My favourite drummer,I really like his style and everything,besides that he's also a great person,not like some other drummers "hey look at me I'm so fucking good" and comeing on the stage like somebody killed his family,and leaving like that as well -.- I mean c'mon..I really appreciate Jaska,he never took lessons as well,since he started with 12 I think,the Shining demo album they recorded in 1996 is incredible,I mean just hear the drums there and Jaska was 17 then!All respect to Jaska!

When i first heard Bodom i'd never expect this guy to be schooled classical. He's playing all the stuff that your teacher always try to teach you :). I first recongnized his playing style when i heard the solo from Chaos ridden years. And for all of you who does'nt like this because it's not very "Bodom"; This is not Metal. This is drumming. I understand why metalfans does'nt like this. But i know that drummers understand this. Jaska knows that. He's also aware of that he's on a drum festival.

I guess you have seen the wrong videos ^^. I once watched one of his DVDs where he used to play on a smaller kit than nowadays and he is grooving the whole time. I think it was "Melodic Drumming and the Ostinato". As far as I know not a lot of these are available on youtube though.

Ok, probably is not the most talented drummer of all time, but I think he's pretty good. You have to remember that he play in a melodic (?) death (?) metal band, and what he do, is pretty much what the band needs. I like his double strokes so much, and he have a very good taste for the grooves. And that's enough, for me, to say that he's a good drummer, not the best, but a good drummer.

I'm not a drummer, but I know what drumming is in metal and then in music. This guy seems to be more of a musical drummer than straight up metal, like Kai Hahto - but what is difficult in their playing isn't the speed but the timing. I think this is jazz drumming right? I know Hahto is a jazz drummer and I've heard shit similar from him. Long live metal!

@cobarethebest i'm personally a fan of jaska, more than children of bodom, (the way they have developed on the last record) and he do got style and groove, but alot of metal drummers doo, if you ask me, it's different kind of groove, but still a groove, tbh the only professional drummer i'm trying hard to find the groove is Terry Bozzio, i mean i listen to alot of prog, don't allways understand everything but i allways find the groove, except for bozzio...
@bbguy1714 жыл бұрын
@sedativeman Yes this is jazz, you've got a really good outlook for a non-drummer. This is definitely not in 4/4 I'm not sure what timing it's in really. Jaska and Kai are apparently best friends, they made a drum piece together that's very solid and jazzy. Too bad Jaska's metal drumming is average.
