Best drummer there could have been for CoB. Always locked in and played for the song. Nothing overly fancy just punishing beats and well placed fills that complement the song. Great chops..

one of the funniest quotes of Jaska was on the DVD "Chaos ridden years" when he said he can't party as much as the others because his job is physically very demanding, so true and what a sympathetic guy! ofc sad alexi was taken from us and CoB doesn't exist anymore :(
@postilaatikko7384
@postilaatikko7384 6 күн бұрын
That's why drumming could be the hardest job for a rock or heavy musician they need always to be at least in some kind of shape to even play their normal set. Laying on the sofa for some weeks without any physical training before the gig or training session or being hangover could ruin everything. As well as any other physical problem or sleep deprivation. Also: If someone is not a superstar like Jaska, they need to carry that big ass drum set always everywhere.

@@pascalschulz5894 guess he learned that way for playing double bass somehow though its anatomically wrong and yes may cause leg fulcrum issues, the correct angles should be upper than 90 to deliver the power easier, since he is definitely a beast he manage this to do with odd angles :)

@@monstercadaver Ok. I know Tuska metal festival which has usually been in Kaisaniemi Park, but this particular gig was in Suvilahti. The 'dome' in the background is certainly not a parliament's dome (there is no dome in the Finnish parliament building). That "dome" is actually a so called 'Gas Clock'. Officially, it's called 'Suvilahden kaasukello'. You can also see a big chimney of Hanasaaren voimala right next to the Gas Clock. Alexi did that 100 guitars thing in front of the Great Cathedral, in Finnish Tuomiokirkko. Ive lived for a few years in Helsinki and went to Tuska Open Air couple of times. Beautiful city, I should make a visit cos' summer is coming and Helsinki in the summertime is incredibly beautiful. I've got a lot of nice memories of summertime Helsinki 💜

Many drummers do this. It's easier to mic just one bassdrumm live. Otherwise you have to spend much time to tune them and make them sound equal. The second bass drum is just for the visual effect.
