I'd be almost afraid to find a piece of music that would make Lang Zhao LOOK like he was struggling to keep up. He's calmer playing this than I am listening to it.

@@sexypoulpe I can respect that, I was more so meaning him being sponsored by Meinl, but if you haven't seen some of his drum clinics you should check them out. I have no doubt he could most likely match this, just never been filmed attempting it. But that's the wonderful thing about this art, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 🙂 🍻🤘

Okay, Lang, I need an explanation, so we can hand this video over to Yogev Gabay for him to dissect. Here at 3:34 you enter a chugging section, very fast bass thumping, much like Tosin Abasi’s (Animals as Leaders) technique. Then here at 3:46 it appears to slow down just a hair. I mean, almost imperceptibly, but there is a definite sensation change. Is that swapping from 7-tuplets to 6-tuplets? Am I hearing that correctly? Because that’s fucking amazing, and I’ve always been simply fascinated by even flows from 6-5-4-3 tuplet phrasings. This is something truly exceptional.
