I was hoping for the snow globe song, but Blizzard removed it this year for whatever reason. I was sad as soon as I went into the globe on both my horde and alliance toons that last years globe music didn't play.

How do bears look more realistic in Classic WoW then retail?
@hawkstrike184 жыл бұрын
Hyenas and demonhounds...? Weapons... Pretty much (almost) everything looks more realistic, or more interesting/with more personality. But ppl and companies care more about high res and 4k. Btw, one thing that hurts retail quite a bit is exactly that, you can no longer play the latest version on a "toaster"; as if ppl weren't excluded by the sub fee alone (tho for me it's mostly good, it keeps me playing only a couple of months per year and I can't end up addicted, hehe). Well, maybe they want MMOs to be less populated for some reason.
@Meisio4 жыл бұрын
I prefer many of the old textures as well. It's not about being realistic or not though, it is about a different art direction. P.S.: For me, the most annoying thing was the replacement of the weather textures (rain to be more specific). Happy New Year! :)
@hawkstrike184 жыл бұрын
@@Meisio fair enough, realistic might not be the perfect word... Tho I'd argue that many old weapons (axes, mostly) look much sharper, their blades shine, and their textures and designs do look more real, altho they're "low res" and some ppl hate that. Well, I hope they won't ruin more hunter pets... What they've done with bears, keeping some old ones in the game, was a better choice than replacing every mob's model like they did with buzzards, hyenas, etc. (Btw, the new rams I saw on petopia look amazing and I checked the models on wowhead and their hooves shine a bit, but I'll still miss the old ones... always wanted one; the mammoths stayed old-school tho! at least for now). Sure, update everything if that makes ppl happier and justifies the art team's salary, but I think the old places shouldn't have new mob models as they look out of place, more or less, and some ppl simply prefer the old models but don't want to start over on a classic server, without transmog and their older chars. Whatever, it's not like *every* updated model looks worse I guess (but damn, thunder lizards were ruined too xD). Plus, it's also not like I am able to enjoy WoW and those little things myself, but maybe I'll be eventually, assuming they won't sht on it (even further). I saw a video (about classic) last month where I saw what looked as heavy rain, I suppose that's what you mean when you talk about the old rain..? I liked it much more too, yh. Night was better as well, I still remember how bummed I felt when I had noticed the difference. I actually joke about all the changes at times, that they're all part of a social experiment, and they want to see how many negative ones old players will tolerate :p

Why do you no longer post the music pieces with timestamps in the description?
@Meisio4 жыл бұрын
I did not put the music in the description from quite a while since KZbin introduced chapters. But I've substituted that with music tracks in the CC / Subtitles. It's true that I did not do it for this one, hopefully I'll do it soon. I had little time to produce this video, also wanted to spend a bit more time with the family :) Happy New Year!

I'll eventually watch this whole, but, does this include all the tracks we can hear in the winter veil livestream playlist? Because I think I'd like to find a specific one, iirc it played in thunder bluff. Well, I guess it's actually in here but it doesn't hurt to ask too x)
@Meisio4 жыл бұрын
Hey Hawkstrike, welcome back :) I'll put the CC / Subtitles with the names of each track soon. I did not do it because I had a lot of things to do irl as well. The winter tracks are a mix, they don't necessarily match each zone in the game. Happy New Year!

@@Meisio (understandable, take your time) Well, thanks, for another reply, plus for the warm&cozy welcome ^^ Happy New Year to you too (tho, time is a continuous thing, we separate it in years, etc, but years exist only in our minds 😁 I mean, it seems 2020 will always serve as a scapegoat/be demonized by many but if we're being realistic and reasonable, we can't blame the year, lol, or even that tiny organism that wants to live too xD besides, let's wait for what'll come in 5 or 10 years, as a consequence of our worst traits and choices, and overpopulation [which would never be solved by this virus, like some extra confused ppl have implied with their theories]... just saying, and I always have more to add, but, end of that kind of off topic section for now😅 sorry, I get carried away). As for the on topic, I'm not even entirely sure which track I was looking for tbh, was half asleep when I heard it xD And it's been a decade since I played in old Azeroth during the Winter Veil event, so I didn't even remember there was old seasonal music... But yeah, I assumed it's one of the seasonal tracks that were bound to exist before the newer ones, but was mostly wondering if the same one played in Thunder Bluff on the livestream version of it, and if it had a specific name (hopefully old seasonal music isn't only 2 separate tracks like how the newer seasonal music seems to be). But it's not a big deal, I'll find it in time, casually. Either way, I think it was the one that sounded like a remix of the cold mountain music. Or perhaps this was the second track I was looking for, which turned out to be included in this video, and the first was a more ambient one (those tend to truly grab my attention after all). I'll have to wait till the livestream version of the Winter Veil is on the stream again, then I'll know for real... Just play it one more time for this year 😏

@@Meisio almost missed the livestream version last time you played it, but nope, saw most of it, so there's no way I won't find at least one of the tracks I had in mind. Either way, turns out the parts I was interested in were used with Winterspring and Alterac footage on livestream (it's probably very different in this vid, tho). Whatever, you added so much info (even the exact locations, wow... tysm) so it'll be hard not to find them. I probably shouldn't care so much but dunno, they just sounded different to me so they caught my ...ear. And I'm trying to make a playlist of pieces I haven't listened too many times, so...

@@Meisio here are the results of my search so far. I found out that for some reason I haven't heard Cold Mountain 6 in ages, so I assumed it was part of some "old seasonal music", which isn't even a thing. Islands Winter tracks were the second ones on the list. I assume they're part of the ("new") seasonal music for WVeil...? There's another part/track that it seems it played on the stream but not here (unless I missed it somehow). Just in case, I have it recorded on my other phone (had to try to find it with SoundHound and, well, keep it for future reference). It is basically some church chants, baritone male and a kinda high pitched female that lasted only for 2 secs. Maybe it's part of the Islands / seasonal tracks. I'll find out eventually... Soon™.
