You are hilarious AND helpful. My favorite expression here is "ausgeschlossen", because it's fun to say. And now I want to see a dog skiing downhill. Also, my condolences to the Squirrel Man. 😁

I like the word "ne" its easy to remember.

Yeah, I'd think of it like Nah in English. Like a lazy, slangy way of saying no.
@hoathanatos61794 жыл бұрын
However, it is also the word No in Low German and thus not slang but proper if you are speaking that language or it could be seen as proper if you are from Northern Germany.

I feel like the further we go into this series the weirder the examples get for each word. I think my favorite was squirrel man. Tragic that he was killed, but “In keinster/ keiner weise” is definitely stuck in my head😂

Hey, I've been wondering: Do German people use formal language in non-formal settings for ironic/joking purposes?

I was waiting for this one. In another video I heard you use "ne,ne,ne" und like some Americans was waiting for "Nein".(I've been binge watching Babylon Berlin season 3 subtitled in English) I found that after a while I could sort of get what they were saying.. So sir, I ask you did you bend your lamp? Your bonsai tree has yellow leaves, have you been neglecting It? Tausend Dank und Auf Wiedersehen :D John

yeah, we don't use nein in daily talk that often :D personally, i usually use 'ne' or 'nö'. Using nein in a simple talk would look like a little bit forced imo

Ich weiß nicht, ob ich schon gesagt habe, aber apropos "Ja" und "Nein" ich mag den Bezug "Jein", wenn man meinen will, dass etwas grundsätzlich stimmt, aber nicht so ganz und daher "Ja" und "Nein" werden zusammen gebaut mit "Jein" (ich hoffe, ich schreibe es korrekt)
