I agree with you 100%. It's okay to be proud of who we are including tribe and national origins but people take the division stuff too far. Meiway is Ivorian yes, However, he is loved by people far beyond the borders of Ivory Cost. That is a testament to a greatness of an artist and one who has lasted for so long. Let enjoy the man's music because I am sure when he makes it he is not only making it for one group of people. A Liberian who Meiway.

Abidjan used to be one of the most beautiful cities in the whole Africa. Ivory Coast was also doing so well .. what went wrong. Many family members wanted to go there and now they all ran back to Ghana
@kakompo15 жыл бұрын
I think I heard "y3da Nyame ase ooo" in the song. The Abidjan Akan is so similar in some ways to the Ashanti Akan in GHana. Nice song.

Why do you mix your pictures from Nairobi with a song from Abidjan (Ivory COast.) Are you fan of Meiway in Kenya? Anyway, this song takes me back to the 90's in Abidjan. Thanks for posting!

Actually he's half Ivorian, and half Bukinabe! He sang it in one of his songs! PEACE!!

Since the war, Abidjan has changed! Too many people now, and life has become really expensive. Really dirty as well! Anyway, nothing that can't be overcome... if the country gets totaly united! All the country around has gone thru this type of problem, Cote d'Ivoire had to go through it too!

@sybellah But in one of his songs"Adibebe" he said his father was from Ivory coast, and his mother was from Bukina Fasso, so going by what HE sang, I automatically assumed he was from CoteD'Ivoire/Bukina Fasso.

Here we go again dividing each others. He is African from the west coast and sing for his continent and humanity. We should understand that we are fighting against forces that are trying to destroy us and overwhelm our lands and natural resources. Before bickering about origins or tribes, take that in consideration.

He is singing about the culturage heritage of his poeple called Appolo who lives in the south of the Ivory Coast at the border with Ghana. Actually this poeple can also be found in Ghana, they were seperated by colonisation.

@zuluman2008 I wouldn't throw all Africans in that short minded mentality; our history is much richer in openness to the genius of man innate capacity when he has freed himself from his external compulsions and lower tendencies. Our duty as new generation is to revive that metaphysical power of self and understanding of our abilities. This mean our liberation from the materialistic shallowness of European and Arabic culture and reconnect with our genius! Most of us ARE NOT AFRICANS!

@vixxy02 I can't argue cuz i dun understand very well Nzema even if my language is kinda similar (baoule), but the general idea of adibebe is that he is talking about men who like really young women, that they should stick wid women from their age range and stop chasin for young girls...so if u understand Nzema u may be right I dunno, but i also watch some show about his family he does not know his dad very well but his mum is from Bassam, he is Deza half bro also Nzema & related by their mum

@abidjanlineakpo79737 жыл бұрын
