I had my done about 2/3 years ago...loved it .....I use to play with it too much..like a comfort 🙈.and one day lost the ball then the bar, while I was out coming up to a year later...over wise healed beautiful....I was concerned I would be left with 2 holes but it closed up and u wouldn't even know it was there.... but closed up super quick...

yess I had a vertical labret for 2 years and I loved it. Let me tell you it stayed swollen for like a month and a half, very slowly going back to normal but the healing process was very unpainful as long as you don't bump into anything. I've had it out for like 2.5 months and the upper opening was completely unnoticeable after a week but you can still see the bottom hole which doesn't matter since its in the curve of the lip.

So glad you got a vertical labret! I've had mine for a little bit more than a year and I thought I'd get tired of it but I still love it. Btw I don't know if this happens to everyone but the first 3 weeks my lips became very dry and chapped (I guess it was because of the saline water) so keep yourself hydrated. Hope the healing goes well :)

well, once you decide you don't want it anymore and take off the jewelry, after some time the hole will heal and you will end up only with a scar, kinda like with a ear lobe piercing.

I had a vertical labret in high school, and the only scar it left was the hole on the bottom part, and you can't notice it unless you physically expose the underside of your lip. The pink part of your lip heals completely over time :)

Aoi Lupin The initial pain surprised me but I didn't cry and it felt like a very sharp pinch :) I've only gotten my lobes done and I've heard cartilage is a bit more painful but if you decide to get a piercing try lobes first if you are willing to haha. Everyone has different levels of pain tolerance but I personally think after you get it done it's not bad because I forgot I had a piercing five minutes after I got it done! If you go through with your plan, definitely look for a good piercer who uses needles instead of guns because needles are sterile and remove the skin safely. Good luck! ^ ^

i have my lobes pierced my nostril pierced and my tongue pierced and honestly it hurt for a second and then it's over. of course pain is different for everyone and it will be tender if you bump it into stuff while it's healing but it's totally worth it to get a beautiful piercing for just a small amount of pain! what were you thinking of getting done?

Emmie Chan I'm super sensitive to pain, so when I got my lobes pierced the initial pain lasted for at least three hours, and then it took about a year to fully heal because it was always getting infected.

Can you feel the bar between the beads when you touch your lip ? I'm worried mine is going to migrate or reject and was worried that it's been pierced too close to the surface but if it's normal to be able to feel the bar then that's fine haha

I've been thinking about getting a vertical labret for so, so, so, sooooo long!!! But with the job I want I can't really have facial piercings. It'll be quite a few years before I'm able to start in that field (probably around 10-13....maybe more) so I've considered getting it for now and taking it out in the future. I'm not worried about scarring I've got little acne scars, scars from hitting my head in Winterguard and a glass thing that fell on me, etc. Another tiny one underneath my lip makes no difference to me. BUT what if later down the road when I plan on taking it out I decide I love it so much and like /won't/. Damn you dream job!!!!!!

I have the same piercing since 2014, and i can tell, it's the most comfortable piercing that i ever had. Doesn't hurt at all, and u can kinda hide when is totally healed. If u take the piercing and after some days or months put again, maybe will hurt but first time is so peaceful. And is really easy to take care in the first week and shit. (Sorry for the bad english) 💕

What most piercers don't mention to you, is that a vertical labret can take up to a year to heal. It entirely depends on the person, but I have hear many, many people who have said it took a year to heal. It also did so on me, despite all my other 11 piercings healing much quicker than they were supposed to.

Just got my vertical labret piercing few hours ago from a reputable shop. I noticed that here, the artist pierced it from up downwards. Mine was done from the bottom of the lip upwards. And the piercer said I should use betadine cleaning it and showed me to use a tissue and put betadine on the tip of it and wipe it on the wound. But on many I watch here, it says to clean it with salt water solution and not betadine.
