I love Kida and Esmeralda as well, especially since they are so courageous, brave and strong and not quite so princess-y, Pocahontas and Mulan definitely make my list, too. I really relate to our favourite bookworm Belle, but a friend once told me I remind her of Merida and I'm kinda proud of that as well. Oh, and right now I'm really vibing with Luisa and Maribel Madrigal 🥰

My thoughts on the characters and their designs and stories: Tiana: Having her as a restaurateur definitely works since she did eventually get her own restaurant at the end of the movie. She would mainly sell southern staples, but some restaurants are a bit more classy. Every one of her restaurants would be packed during Mardi Gras, and there's one thing sold from 8 pm to midnight that everyone wants, but only a few will get: king cake. (And you are given certain bonuses based on a lottery if you find the coin, which, while there are several cakes made, only one slice will have a coin per restaurant.) Cinderella: She's definitely a fashion designer (in her movie in 1950, she made a dress for the ball with her bird and mouse friends, and though Idon't remember of the top of my head, I think she made the dress all by her self in the remake 65 years later), but she does not just specialized on shoes. She absolutely can make outfits for celebrities and her modern royal friends, but she usually caters to women and girls getting outfits ready for prom or a wedding, you name it, with a little bit of catering to men's suits. Kida: I appreciate that you added Kida in this mix, since she's a very underrated character (Atlantis and Treasure Planet being very slept on movies). I also like the idea of giving her these tattoos, but I think there's something else that I would've done. Seeing the Milo tattoo on her thigh, I thought, "what if Kida was Milo's assistant in finding other great legends," since much like him, she happens to be a polyglot. She could still keep the serious attitude because that would be very necessary if you're going to find the location of the Holy Grail without the assistance of the Knights Templar.

Kida and Eilonwy are my fav unofficial princesses/royalty. They’re both so unique and Eilonwy especially is so defiant in her original source material (Prydain Chronicles) while still being girly. So glad to see some rep for Kida, her covered in tattoos is so cool!!

I'm a big fan of Kida and Esmerelda, too! I also like Captain Amelia from Treasure Planet and Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph. Though, my favorite Disney woman now is Luisa from Encanto. She is so sweet and strong and beautiful, and she's a great big sister to Mirabel. I also really love Mirabel and Dolores from Encanto, too. The whole movie is chock-full of great characters that might be fun for you to do new designs with. I always love seeing your creative new designs with all these different characters!

Kida is definitely my favourite out of all official and unofficial princesses. I remember watching Atlantis as a kid, she left a huge impression on me. I think Atlantis is among the best Disney films. It makes me sad Disney is just trying so hard to ignore her.

I love that there are bows on Cindy's top that remind me of her original dress that the mice made and the stepsisters tore apart. As a kid, that was actually my fave dress. Especially when it felt special because it was lovingly handmade, and from leftovers too. Almost wish the bows were pink as a small tribute to it :)

These were incredible. I really love it when people draw Disney princesses (whether it’s as is or in a different style/theme). So seeing you draw some of my favourite Disney princesses as modern girls is just wonderful. I really loved them all, but I personally loved Kida’s design the most, because A) she’s another one of my personal favourite princess from the Disney princesses, B) her design gives off a cool modern, casual yet stylish look, C) I really love how the crop top and ripped shorts reflects her character and personality so much D) I just really love how her icy silver-white hair compliments her lovely crystal blue eyes, and E) her tattoos are really nice and beautiful and really reflects her personality. Tiana’s design gives off a cool cafe/restaurant/bistro owner style to it (reminds me of an upstart entrepreneur)...plus I just adore her emerald green jacket. Cinderella’s design was just very beautiful, it was simple yet elegant and it perfectly reflects who she is, and I’d think she’d make an excellent fashion designer and shoe designer. These were very beautiful I can’t wait to see more Disney princesses as modern girls (if you plan to do this again...I’d love to see Jasmine and Elsa as modern girls, or even draw the Mirabel and the rest of the Madrigals). Great job as always Mei and I can’t wait to see what you draw next.

Kida's tattoos look awesome, Tiana's outfit has beautiful shades of green (and nice touches with the flowers and lily pads), and Cinderella's top is an interesting mix of something modern and classically elegant. As for what they'd do in modern times, I can imagine all of them doing something for literally everyone since they all had major ups and downs in their respective movies. Maybe Cinderella could use her clothing business to also aid with various charities, Tiana could provide food for the needy while also cooking exquisite meals at her restaurant, and Kida may explore various places to better understand different cultures.

Can't say this enough, but I absolutely adore your energy. I was going through a very... how to say it, kind of an "emotionless" phase, but when I clicked on your video, the emotions and inspiration just flowed through. So thank you so much. And those princesses are looking amazing! I love all of these, they definitely seem so in character for each one. I don't really match with any of them since I'm more dark and am a digital artist. How much do you wanna bet they are all friends, and they often give eachother business? Maybe Tiana talks to Cinderella about fabulous green shoes and Cinderella goes to Tiana's restaurants for some great food. And maybe Kida is a tattoo artist and the other two may have met her through other friends who had a positive experience with her.

I am usually drawn to a lot of the hand drawn animated films because that's what I grew up with, though I love a number of the CG Disney movies as well, like Zootopia and Wreck-it Ralph, as well as Tangled and Big Hero 6. My two favorite Disney films of all time are The Lion King and Fantasia because they showcase some of the best techniques of the animators of their time. Other favorites are Snow White, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Bambi, Peter Pan, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. From the Renaissance period, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Rescuers Down Under, Hercules, and Hunchback of Notre Dame. I guess I have a lot of favorites.

Tiana: The design and the outfit fit her perfectly. She looks so professional and sophisticated. That’s something that can really get someone’s attention. Also I like that she’s wearing green because it stays connected to her original dress in a way and she’ll be safe from leprechauns. Cinderella: The design is interesting, its just not something I would think about seeing her wear. But after another careful look, I began to see that she can pull it off. I’m not into fashion but it always helps to take a closer look to see if the outfit can be pulled off by the character you’re thinking about or drawing on the paper. (Just a small piece of advice). Also with the career ideas like a shoe designer, she could work alongside her modernized Disney Princess friends to design outfits for say a Modern Disney Fashion Show? Kida: I’m so glad that the underrated princesses are getting some love. Kida looks pretty cool. I like that she’s looking off into the horizon because it can be interpreted into a different scene. Like she could be a little homesick, or she could be thinking about her future with Milo. Also the tattoos may give off a rebellious vibe. Hope she doesn’t get into a fight with Raya. Overall this video was interesting to watch and I hope the next one will be just as interesting. I eagerly await for it. Keep up the good work and may your Multiverse prosper and grow.

I love all of it, especially when you drew tattoos on Kida. Kida is my number one favorite princess but since Kida is a underrated princess and even though Mulan is not a princess and I love Mulan.
