Hopefully the CPC can repaint this ancient building for the vibrancy ....and the ancient architecture is so sturdy and beautiful where the Chinese need to preserve their building ....

Beautiful temples and waters. It's also good to see the statement of alliance between temples. The more people who love peace, the more peace there is. I hope you get to visit a Tianhou temple overseas one day. Interesting comparison too with Jesus. Perhaps closer is his mother, Mary. She is known as Mother Mary to some Christians, and is sometimes asked to intercede and protect devotees. Her head scarf is traditionally blue or white, and she has many statues and shrines in different parts of the world. Though different, interesting parallels with Mazu.

I once took church class many years ago in the U.S. I remember I learned the Lord's Prayer. The first thing in my mind after learning the story of Mazu was the Lord's Prayer. Now that you've mentioned Mother Mary, I remember in Fatima, Portugal I saw many sincere devotees of her. It's similar to Hokkien's belief in Mazu.
