My grandfather from mother’s side migrates from Meizhou. My grandfather is the only one who has ties with Hakka people. So, since he passed away, we don’t have any contacts to our old relatives from Meizhou. I have never been to Meizhou but my mother once travelled there with her Dad. Hopefully, one day, I can visit there.

Why do you need a background music so loud that one can't hear your narrative! Love your videos but stopped watching rest of the video because of the loud lousy background music!

Miao should be called Mong, since ethnic war many Mong have migrated to south east Asia and in the last 50 years some have migrated to the other side of the world. In more than 200 year of separation I have found my relative in China.

I visited this port last November 2024 when I visited my ancestral home in Meizhou. My grandfather left communist China in 1950 using this port to Calcutta. The visit brings the memories how our ancestors travelled in the 1950s. I live in Canada now but I do visit Meizhou from time to time to see some old relatives. There is a huge second generation of Hakka in Canada. Yanyan thank you for sharing this video .

Miao/Hmong people are basically "minority" in China only on paper. Miao people don't consider themselves as minority because first, China were their homeland for thousands years. Second, they look like other Chinese, young people can speak standard Mandarin as other Chinese, their name, their living styles are all like other Chinese. You won't know they are Miao people if they don't tell you. They only look different when they wear their own traditional cloth in tourist area, or in their holidays. Basically like Jews people or maybe Irish people in America.

the han chinese killed many hmong peoples in china so thats why they had to moved /escaped to s.e. asian countries. if you are shame about this history, you should not even talk about this because han chinese government gov. killed hmong leaders and peoples. hmong people suffered and still suffered today.

Hmong people remember chinese are real enemies of hmong people, research the chinese word hmong shu. They always force their culture on minority . Never trust CCP chinese criminal party.

So this mean we are Hmong-Chinese/ Americans due to we are 1st generation so on. Just cux we don’t speak Chinese does not mean we are not part of Chinese… we speak more Hmong languages cux our parents fleet out for better opportunities n for safety during such wars n it’s era. ( that’s why we fall to the Hmong range more) while growing up. Nothing wrong with that tho. Grt History. Wow! I don’t mine visit my own roots here just to be fascinated by this beautiful culture of mine then. We’re still so lost that we always wonder where do I fit in… ”Question” and answers”❤ Thanks for your time n making this happened💯☝️❤️🥰

You are chinese descendants, but you are not hmong-chinese. Hmong is a chinese ethnic group, just like the thousands of ethnic groups in mainland china. You are hmong american, not hmong chinese american.
