Meizu 18 Review: True iPhone 12 mini Alternative? [English]

Here is an unboxing and review of the Meizu 18. Do you prefer small screen phones? From my opinion, the Meizu 18 is the Meizu phone for those who want a powerful and feature-rich phone, but with a size that doesn't make their palms and fingers ache. It works exceptionally well, but it's not for everyone, at least the daunting $680 starting price!

6.2” is quite a bit bigger than 5.4” so it’s not quite small enough. Looks like a nice alternative to Samsung galaxy S20 or S21 though, with the SD888 and the higher resolution screen. And the new androids are just too long, weird aspect ratio.

Im okay at 6.2" but the dimension is too tall at 20:9 display ratio..Good luck watching 16:9 videos with large black bars on the side..I dont see any youtuber mention how bad it is lol, they should!

6.3 is far away from being a compact phone. Still waiting for the Android reply to IP Mini, but apparently it's not selling well, so I'm not sure if it will ever happen. 😷

Totally agree. I wish Meizu make Meizu 18 MINI 😍😍😍 Same exact dimension as iPhone 12 mini. Just Imagine that 😭😭😭 Why there's no company make compact phone why ?? Just Apple make iPhone 6,7,8,x, se, mini. All these were and still top selling phone and they are all very compact. Meizu CEO is super SUPER stupid, why these Chinese can't see this, Xiaomi has million phone, non of them mini phone.

Can you do a side-by-side camera comparison between Meizu 18 and Xiaomi Mi 11? It's hard to perceive how good the camera is without any point of comparison

There is no doubt that Xiaomi will win. Meizu is at the bottom of China in terms of camera training. So most Meizu users are replaced by Google cameras.

@@mrrobot5435 even Oppo Reno 2, Find X3 Neo, Reno 4 Pro 5g have OIS and they are cheaper and have a very similar sensor to the meizu 18, even a two year old p30 pro has a better camera!

@@phillihp5311 Camera is not only the selling point here. SD 888 has 3 ISP which can contribute to better image and video processing. A 12MP sensor in pixel 4A gives far better image than 108MP sensors on these budget phones. 12MP is enough to view on any display available today. I am just saying 64MP + OIS is better than 108MP no OIS because our hands are not steady.

@@mrrobot5435 i never mentioned any phone without OIS (all the examples I mentioned are proper camera phones), I like the meizu 18 but it is just weird to use a sensor found in budget phones even with OIS, I know the software helps but meizu is not google, as for the rest (sd888) you can find these things on other phones.

@@phillihp5311 At this price point of $680 meizu has everything one could expect sd888 , 2k display , OIS , Telephoto lens. If you are camera centric. you can go for pro which is around $770 which is one of the best camera at this range on paper. For real camera performance Samsung, Google and Apple are the leaders and they are always overpriced.
