This nice documentary about Mekong has been tainted by irresponsible remarks on Mahayana Buddhism, mainly due to lack of proper research on the topic per se. I was dumbfounded by the statement of "more corrupt Mahayana Buddhism from the north side" in comparison with Theravada. No matter where did you source it, You need to elaborate more on your weak statement before publishing it to the public. Here some brief insights for your team: Mahayana means a “greater vehicle” that enables all people to attain enlightenment. The Mahayana Buddhist movement started out essentially as a lay movement, and its practitioners were critical of monastic Buddhism for its insularity from the populace, calling it Hinayana or a “lesser vehicle” which is known as Theravada. Mahayana tradition aimed to incorporate newer teachings into the practice. It also gave laypeople the chance to reach Enlightenment. With less emphasis on the original Pali canon and a focus on encouraging everyone toward Enlightenment, the Mahayana branch of Buddhism was established. It is not apple-to-apple comparison, but Theravada is more less like Roman Catholic while Mahayana is more less like Protestantism in Christianity. I am neither pro nor against both sects, but I believe there is no "more or less corrupt" in both. At the end, they are inseparable part of the local society in East Asia and can be beneficial for human being as well as corrupted and bloody. Disclaimer: I am an irreligious guy.

It's historical fact that US (and other foreign) troops in Vietnam were there in support of the South Vietnamese government. The accusation that they were "invaders" is Communist propaganda, and to hear them called such in a documentary is rather shocking.
