Will row 14, 21, 28, and on also begin with a chain 4 and is this and your beginning 6 chains mandatory? It just seems such a large gape on the edges. Just a question. Hope you have time. I want to make curtains for two kitchen windows in beige cotton.

No it's a not a must, I change patterns all the time. If it's to big of a gap for you, by all means reduce it. It's your project. let your designing juices fly :)
