@@Cloudetower She did. For some strange reasons some people think that "singing lead" means "singing the first verse" which is not. You can sing lead in the chorus, the ad-libs are lead vocals too, a verse (first or second) is a lead vocal. In other words the lead vocal is the counterpart of "background vocal". Melanie C definitely sang most of the lead vocals and she's the one that overall sang the most on the second album Spiceworld.

Who does care it's playback, Mel C would 1,000 times prefer singing live with such a wonderful voice and a lot of talent... but in so many instances TV shows made mandatory doing it in playback. Patience, she has nothing to comprove - she's a force of nature, hands down. p.s. here Mel is nothing short od a GODDESS... what a magnificent woman.

Vocalmente era la spina dorsale delle Spice Girls già allora, ma era sottovalutata in quanto poco chiassosa e, almeno agli inizi, meno appariscente delle altre... ma aveva un viso bellissimo che esprimeva una simpatia immediata, un sorriso irresistibile, e due occhi magnetici color nocciola assolutamente killer. Purtroppo Melanie ha patito, certamente molto più delle altre Spiceys, l'enorme stress fisico e mentale imposto da una mole enorme di lavoro, e di successo, condensati in un periodo incredibilmente breve: circa 31 - 32 mesi, prima della necessaria pausa arrivata col 1999. Ma ha avuto grande successo nella carriera solista, perchè è estremamente brava e talentuosa. Splendida donna !!!
