well... both had success in that time, but Melanie C is still in the bussiness...she loves the music, her passion. She created her own music label: Red Girls when she could sing with sony music or another commercial label and now would be talking of a greatest popstar but she didn´t want to do it cuz she same told a long time ago; she wanted freedom in the creation of her music and she did well, she followed her soul and even when she isn´t a commercial artist, she can live of her passion, The music.

FACT: As of 2013 Geri Halliwell has sold 15 million records worldwide with only 3 albums as a solo artist while Melanie C has sold over 12 million records worldwide with 6 albums.

The facts are these: Mel C has the best selling album (Northern Star, which sold 4 million copies), the two best selling singles (When You're Gone and Never Be the Same Again which both sold 2,5 million copies, I Turn to You and First Day of My Life as well), the best Charts-Topper single (Never Be the Same Again, no.1 in 6 countries), the 2nd best (I Turn to You, no.1 in 5 countries+no.1 on the US Dance Chart, which by the way also sold 2 million copies), the third (First Day of My Life which went to no.1 in 5 countries. She also has been touring worldwide since 1999. When Geri released her mega flop album in 2005 Mel C released Beautiful Intentions that overall sold 1,5 million copies. Summing up Mel C is the most successful Solo Spice Girl.

Melanie es más talentosa, es carismatica a su manera, no necesitó nunca de escandalos para vender, pero además es la unica que ha batido records y sigue mezclandose con la gente cuando va a lugares a hacer de DJ y obviamente a sus shows, las otras ahora están copadas porque tiene un tour por delante pero no son cercanas a la gente en general.

Si, es cierto. En Chile Geri comercialmente hablando le fue mucho mejor. De hecho en su momento el programa Mekano la entrevistó en su apogeo de la carrera en solitario. Mel C apareció solo en 2019 en Blondie.

Encuentro esto algo para comparar en aquella época, ahora mismo, no se puede dudar que MelanieC ha tenido la mejor carrera artística de las 5, geri tuvo más números uno comerciales por el efecto dominó de dejar las Spice Girls, pero su último disco fue flor, mientras que MelanieC se fue de virgin records justamente porque quería hacer su carrera a su manera, ella misma dijo que no le gustaba que le dijeran: esa idea tuya es muy buena pero no vende. O ese tema es muy bueno pero no es la moda. Así funciona la industria discográfica, sino miren ahora estamos infectados por el trap, el twerking, el reggueaton y más musica así, que no tiene que ver con buena calidad sino música barata, sin sentido y pegadiza. Las Spice Girls fueron pegadizas pero sus letras eran muy buenas y tenían sentido.

No me gusta estar comparando entre cuál es mejor que la otra. Ambas tienen lo suyo. Geri es mi Spice favorita sin duda. Es a la que le fue mejor comercialmente hablando en su carrera solitaria, obteniendo 4 singles números 1. Por su parte Mel C tiene una gran carrera en solitario y amo su single Norther Star.

You realize her official site has been stating she's sold over 3 million albums since the release of BI, right? If your figures were even half right, surely they would have changed it to at least 4 million? I love Mel and her music, but fans making up ridiculous figures is just plain stupid. 'This Time' managed to sell just over 13k in the UK and has only been certified gold in Switzerland which means 15k. Where the hell did she sell the other 770k??? It didn't even chart in most countries!

I have, Reason sold 500.000 WORLDWIDE and 101.889 copies in UK, It was considered flop because Northern Star sold 4 million copies. This Time sold 800.000 copies WORLDWIDE (singles included). Anyway If facts make you laugh then I say good, keep laughing. lol

Beautiful Intentions has sold almost 1 million copies, I took a look on another site about This Time and now I found out that it sold 200.000 (Albums+singles) copies, not 800.000.Damn! Anyway it charted in Uk,Italy, Germany, Canada, Swiss, Poland and Portugal. You came out with ridiculous figures too when you stated that Reason didn't reach 500.000 copies..

That's how reliable your facts are. You just went from saying 'This Time' sold 800k to 200k. 'Reason' was believed to have sold 500k but that must have been a shipping figure. Accurate estimates put it at 350k and 400k for BI. Total sales for the whole BI era, including singles could well have reached 1 million though, since FDOML sold over 400k in just Germany.

Both their first albums(N.S. and S.) are successful, Reason sold 500.000 copies while SIYWGF was a flop despite the success of the lead single. "Beautiful Intentions" sold 1 million copies while "Desire" was a total FLOP ( 5,432 sold in Uk LOL). Mel C has also released "This Time"(800.000) and The Sea that is a flop even though is a great album . Not only Mel C is the most successful but she also has something that Geri lacks..TALENT! Anyway, Geri's new album will flop just like the others.
