We are investing in Ice Breakers but they are unarmed. We should have a fleet of Ice Breaker warships. The other issue is where they decided to put the refueling for the ships they only have access for a month a year and is not exactly close to the northwest passage. We need nuclear powered ice breakers and the fueling area for our diesel powered ships should be in Resolute. I'm also hoping that once micro reactors start really hitting the market we invest in those. We could have year round military bases in the artic that dont rely on diesel if we we powering them with nuclear. I'd also say we should maybe purchase a bunch of F-15's. The F-35s are nice but the issue with those is they are single engine. The F-15 is 2 engines which makes it safer for intercept missions in the Arctic. We dont really need stealth when going after Russian bombers. We just want speed which the F-15 has. The other advantage the F-15 has is it has a massive payload. The F-35 can do targeting and then the F-15 can take out the target.
