The first time I heard Melanie was off my older brother's album he'd bought and I would play it over and over again. I was about nine years old and fifty plus years later, I never tire listening to her songs.RIP you beautiful soul. The angels must be in awe when they listen to you singing songs of love and peace...what a wonderful sight that must surely be.Your music lives on as you still do and always will in our hearts. Thanks for making the world a warmer and kinder place to be through your unselfish sharing of your life and art. Love you Melanie!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that she has passed on. What a performer, writer, singer and guitarist! A really rare talent. Unsung hero of the 60/70s, singing wonderfully in the 2020s, as a latter day Malvina Reynolds but Melanie is her own girl, that she is in this metaphysical world, where "you can't get there from here" she got there, licence or no licence. Unique lady. Great guitar playing from Beau her son. Just a fantastic farewell concert. Creative voice resonates so fully with no researched ambiguities. Lovely fresh songs which say it as it not so simply is. You sang for the unsung. You will be missed dear girl.

I always loved Melanie. This song made me happy every time I heard it on the radio. What a wonderful gesture to invite the audience on stage to sing with her. I can’t sing but I would’ve loved to have been on stage to sing with her. Tears began flowing down my cheeks when I read the comments and learned she was gone. Little by little all the things in my life are going away. Thank you Melanie for all the wonderful moments you gave to me and millions of others ❤️.

To me, she represented the very best of American hippiedom and allowed many of us Europeans to view the USA in a far more favourable light than that presented by the "official" version.
@treespirit20009 ай бұрын
Don't think there's any such thing as an "official" version; just a fleeting fiction. The hippies, taken as a whole, were an amazingly brave, creative tribe who pushed the many bogus boundaries of America of that day. Just a fantastic time.

SUCH a sweet SWEET soul, for her children I feel most sad, for their loss then for all of us fans. My cousin when I was 3 would say it was her (melody) that sang the song Brand New Key & I was 3 so on the radio after the song played the dj would say AND THAT was Melanie & I couldn't differentiate that it wasn't my 14 year old cousin 😂 I believed that for a while until I found my mothers records & realized they were in fact two separate ladies. Some Say I Got Devil was the B side I think & Candles in the Rain & Look what they done to my song ma...I played the HELL out of those records. I wish I'd have been able to see her live 😔 but nonetheless I've been an LEGIT fan since I was 3!! Xxo
