The album gets darker towards the end because of the sexual assault in Tag, You’re It. In Milk and Cookies, she literally kills her assaulter and figuratively kills her previous self/innocence. She accepts that the world is a dark place and becomes darker herself. She becomes colder, more selfish. In Pacify Her, she seduces another girl’s boyfriend and sees nothing wrong with it. She is no longer the innocent, emotional, heartbroken girl she was at the beginning of the album and has now become the heartbreaker. In Mad Hatter, she faces and accepts her new darker self and celebrates who she has become. This entire album is a work of art tbh

Here’s the full story behind each song in order: Crybaby: We meet crybaby and she shows how she has lots of emotion Dollhouse: Shows how everyone thinks her family’s perfect but when you look inside it’s really messed up Sippy Cup: In this song Crybaby’s mother kills the father (who has been cheating on her) and Crybaby is forced to take medication so she can forget all about it Carousel: She finds her first love but feels like she’s trying to catch up to him and that he doesn’t care Alphabet Boy: Crybaby’s love thinks he’s better than her so he bosses her around and treats her like a baby Soap: Crybaby finds a new crush but is too afraid to ask him out Training Wheels: Crybaby finally tells the boy how she feels about him Pity Party: Crybaby has a birthday party where no one shows up, not even her boyfriend Tag, You’re It: After her party failed, she takes a walk outside where the Big Bad Wolf kidnaps Crybaby Milk and Cookies: Crybaby poisons her kidnapper with milk and cookies so she can escape Pacify Her: Crybaby doesn’t care about getting a boyfriend anymore but she gets rid of someones girlfriend just for fun Mrs. Potato Head: Crybaby thinks she has to be prettier and skinner like the girls on TV but sees a commercial where it shows that trying to be prettier only hurts you and makes you more sad that you’ve lost a part of yourself Mad Hatter: Crybaby finally feels comfortable about being herself K-12 is all about how in school, the staff just want money and are mind controlling the students to get what they want, I’m guessing. (You can tell me if I got anything wrong)

In soap she already is in a relationship. The song is about her going too fast with it by saying "I love you", while the boy isn't ready for that. She regrets saying it to him. If u are confused here is crybabys story First crybaby is where she is born her heart is bigger than her body and her name is crybaby Next dollhouse while everybody outside thinks they are picture perfect they are really not and they are dealing with a lot Sippy cup talks about her family is still tearing apart her mom kills her dad because her moms drunk and her dad cheated on her mom Carousel talks about how she first fell in love and she was chasing him around like a horse on a carousel and how he stole her heart After she cried and cried she realized she was worth much more so she didn't give a f**k about alphabet boy Soap talks about how she found a new love (jhonny) but when she said to much she had wash her mouth out with soap For training wheels as their relationship get closer she wants to take the training wheels of and start a relationship it's not like she's asking to be his wife!,in her pity party she asks everybody to come even jhonny but nobody showed up because they went to Beth Ann's party (a.k.a basic b**ch) The next day she was throwing away the decorations of her pity party and went to buy some groceries the cashier gave her a vial of poison very confused she left the ice cream man was giving her some ice cream and next thing she knew she was being driven away After she was captured by the big bad wolf (ice cream man) he asked her to make some milk and cookies the milk and cookies had sugar but lots of poison too after the wolf was killed she went away back to her house She found herself in the same rooms Beth Ann (basic b**ch) and she fell in love agin with blue boy but Beth Ann took him she tried to get his attention but Beth Ann got him back at the end blue boy wanted to play with her but Beth Ann showed him something he wasn't supposed to see she went back to her house in tears she saw mrs.potato head on the tv then she thought that pain was beauty but then realized if he doesn't like me for me he's not worth it mad hatter is when she's completely lost it she's absolutely crazy.

An interesting part about this is how her character changes drastically following her abduction. In Pacify Her, she is a lot more crazy than she was in Training Wheels. Highlights a lot about what such an experience can do to someone.

I feel like anyone could relate to this album in some way. It's all about childhood trauma and how it affects you later on in life. I agree with Training Wheels being the weakest track. I really like the idea, but I feel like the execution could've been a bit better.

Right I was bullied by people at school but people in my family would pick on me for cry or being a little over weight or right now being to skinny I was judged for many years and whenever I cried in front of them they would call me cry baby and now that’s my nickname but my siblings went to school with me and they would call me crybaby so then that carried on in school and I officially was called crybaby for years until I moved in high school

The entire album is actually a large story, the songs represent the things going on in a fantasy personality Melanie created to represent herself, called Crybaby. The songs are narratives of Crybabys life, that included deeper meanings to teach life lessons. Each song is connected, and the music videos give context of it, along with the lyrics. She gives you hints in the videos and song for yoy to connect by yourself instead of outright giving you the story. She gives the tools for you to build theories, but doesn't do it for you. It makes it like a fun adventure! And thats one of the main reasons she's my favorite artist. Everything she makes is such high-quality, and so well thought out that it just drags you in. Melanie is an awesome human being to me, and i respect her fully.

You're smart girl! You understood pretty much everything! I wanna shed some light on a few things for you though if I may: - I think Training wheels is about those cute relationships where people like to act endearing by teasing each other. I don't think calling her 'fuckin' dumb' is meant in an insulting way. - The verses in Alphabet Boy are written in A words, B words, C words, and D words. Like when you're learning to make sentences in school with words that start with certain letters. E.g. "Apples Aren't Always Appropriate Apologies. Butterscotch and Bubblegum drops are Bittersweet to me. You Call me a Child while you keep Counting all your Coins. But you're not my Daddy, and I'm not your Dolly, and your Dictionary's Destroyed". And it's also written about a boy who studied music who thought he was a better writer than her because he'd studied. She's letting him know with this song that she's just as talented a writer, and that he's immature for being condescending. - If you watch the Pacify Her music video it shows that the boy who's in a relationship doesn't like the girl, he actually likes Melanie, but he's staying in the relationship because the girl uses her body to keep him. She sings to him "you don't love her. Stop lying with those words. I think she's less of a homewrecker, and more frustrated that he's staying with the girl because she gives him her body, when him and Melanie have a genuine connection. - Also, a lot of Melanie's songs aren't stories of her own experiences, but experiences that her friends have had, and that she's read about or heard about that inspired her. She twists these stories into a kind of fairy tale or nursery rhyme-esque story.

Loser the songs are a story about a character about "Crybaby". Crybaby's dad was a cheater and that's what she was used to she doesn't get it. Its showing how it works. Dhe isn't pretty enough to make him stay though, and that's where Mrs.Potato head comes in, in the video they adverstise a blonde wig, the girl blue boy stays with has blonde hair. All the crap that happens to her, drives her crazy and that leads to her being the Mad Hatter.
