Yeah usually the "backing" vocals tend to carry the entire song while the artist chimes in once and a while, but I appreciate how Melanie actually goes out of her way to sing it all :)

I think all that smoking and having to do that unhealthy baby voice 24/7 on every single tour has done some extreme damage to her voice. (Plus, iirc she never really took any special vocal lessons which is probably why she has so much trouble singing because she pushes her voice to get that breathy high pitched tone with very little time to catch her breath.)
