Melanie Philips has been a denier of lots of things in her life including things that the Israeli government have openly admitted to. She recently denied that Israel control electricity and water in Gaza. She denied the 1947 massacre despite the fact that Israeli soldiers (Tantura Massacre) involved have admitted to it. She regularly denied that there are Israelis living on occupied land. She denies that there is any apartheid in the West Bank. It is my opinion that she is mentally ill.

I agree in principle, but there’s no point inviting them on if they’re not going to held to account. Too often these people aren’t even held to basic standards of evidencing and truthfulness, they’re just allowed to spew their violent rubbish without any challenge. Meanwhile other intelligent and well-researched individuals are often interrogated so much they are barely allowed to finish their sentences, they are constantly interrupted and unable to get a word in edgewise. This kind of thing only works if the mediator is genuinely unbiased, neutral and capable of properly interviewing all parties equally.
