We were lucky that a few years ago we could attend a concert by Melanie in Maaseik Belgium, together with her son Beau Jarred. Her voice was still the same as the one we knew from the '70s. An unforgettable anecdote was what she told about her performance at Woodstock as a 21-year-old. She was very nervous beforehand to perform in front of half a million people and was therefore very relieved when it started to rain. She assumed that half of the audience would leave and it would be a little less exciting for her. However………no one left and she ended up giving a great concert for those 500,000 people. Melanie thank you for all those beautiful songs!

She was 22 at Woodstock (birth Feb. 3, 1947. Woodstock Music and Art Fair, the actual name of it, on Aug. 15-18, 1969 at Bethel, NY). She missed her 77th birthday by only 11 days (Jan. 23, 2024). No cause of death was given. R.I.P.

@Angel Cortes They are not mutually exclusive. Being washed by the word is a blessing. Dichotomous thought is Linear and that is quite evil. So lets not practice that. I love YHWH ELOHIM, and Yahshua taught us in the book of Mathew that we don't place a light under a bowl but place it on a lamp stand to light the whole room.. We were also taught that we are the salt of the earth, Melanie is all about light and being the salt of the earth here, so fear not . Peace and Shalom

I have kept her close alll these years along with Dylan, Joni, Buffy ... and if you are reading this, you know the rest. Its many years ago now and the world has gone through irreparable change and destruction but listening to my " peace, hope and love" songs sustains me... although the spirit of that time has passed its always in my heart. I will always be a hippie in heart and mind.

ya ya ya, I don't know how to say, but the feeling kinda like.. well you know, we were connect each other even we never meet before, we look up and just feel the same feeling as you do, love, love and hope for a better world. And tought my story about get the new seeker records for this album, it just like unexpected moment, cause last time I feel like lonely, spend my time with a classic book, my life changing by, thinking the universe, then bought this record and found a beautiful meanings inside, and well never feel lonely anymore, love & respect from Indonesia

I never got the appeal of Bob Dylan anyway. Never liked him. But Melanie... she's a whole other story. Awesome!

I was young when this came out. I bought it. I hadn't realised how lonely I was until I listened to the words.
