We were lucky that a few years ago we could attend a concert by Melanie in Maaseik Belgium, together with her son Beau Jarred. Her voice was still the same as the one we knew from the '70s. An unforgettable anecdote was what she told about her performance at Woodstock as a 21-year-old. She was very nervous beforehand to perform in front of half a million people and was therefore very relieved when it started to rain. She assumed that half of the audience would leave and it would be a little less exciting for her. However………no one left and she ended up giving a great concert for those 500,000 people. Melanie thank you for all those beautiful songs!

She was 22 at Woodstock (birth Feb. 3, 1947. Woodstock Music and Art Fair, the actual name of it, on Aug. 15-18, 1969 at Bethel, NY). She missed her 77th birthday by only 11 days (Jan. 23, 2024). No cause of death was given. R.I.P.
