Never too late to start. I never learnt an instrument before, but in 2017 I watched a few people play and sing. I was 49 years old then. A few months later I bought an acoustic guitar and it is one of my best decisions. I am still a beginner. My modesty hold me from telling you how much I have learnt. I take it slow and easy and strive to grasp musical concepts. I push myself try stuff above my level and soon I see that it is actually my level. I use a metronome (clock, digital beats) just to learn t\o keep time, but when I and showing someone what I can do I do it raw, and anything that sounds like a drum when I am playing, believe me, is my strumming and muting techniques. You should buy a guitar.

I seriously appreciate the the way you use vibrato, slides, and hammer-ons/offs in your playing... the attention you give to particular notes captures emotion really well, and because of it, it feels like your sound is nearly tangible. idk if that makes any sense lmao, but you really inspire me to practice more. My biggest gripe with much of todays music (radio) is that no one plays instruments, writes their own music or actually sings (see backing tracks / vocals / autotune). It's more of a glorified kareoke now. However lately a slew of gifted musicians have emerged to bring back the love of actual musicianship. Please keep this up Ms. Faye, you are truly phenomenal.

Goddess! On the Stevie Wonder scale of ten where a ten means I’ve broken down in tears, weeping like I’m ten and I’ve just tasted ice cream for the first time despite hearing about it, you’re an eight-on the Stevie Wonder scale!! You are the best flavor of Stevie Wonder ice cream. More seriously, I’ve played the sax since I was a child. Berklee Scholarship. Yadda, yadda, yadda. I can go over the reasons I never found my musicianship like you have, but I’m giving it another go, on guitar. So I’ve been researching, listening, ready to do it right this time round. But mostly I just want to enjoy it, even if I just play alone. So I see you here, playing alone, but for this audience, for me, and I’ve learned from it. Play for myself, and play for others.
