@arizonatea30094 жыл бұрын
John Hendricks how do you use octaves in guitar?
@monojhqm4 жыл бұрын
@@arizonatea3009 it's the distance between the first and last note. An octave is a pitch 12 half steps, or 8 scale tones, above another pitch. Taking the guitar as an example, if you play the lowest E string, then move your finger up to the twelfth fret (each fret raises the pitch by one half step), you will be playing another E, but this is an octave higher than the first, lowest E you played. The highest E string on the guitar is an octave higher than that. When you look at that twelfth fret, you might notice a unique marking on it. Some have dots, lines, or mother-of-pearl insets. You'll notice some similar markings elsewhere on the fretboard. These usually signify the frets you need to use to play a pitch a major 3rd, perfect 4th, and/or perfect 5th higher than the open string. These markings are there so the player can look down and identify them right away, rather than counting the frets each time.

It's just the coolest thing in life, jamming with a friend like that! Both supporting each other, not competing to outplay one another. They both know it's not a competition, it's ALL the studying and practicing that they've both done showing up in this little exchange between them. I love when Neal is playing rhythm and Tomo is playing lead, Neal gives the enthusiastic "yeah" , he's digging Tomos playing not trying to think of something he can do to show him up. That's the way it's supposed to be, unity and harmony, just digging each other. I've read comments that compare who's better , I'm staying out of it. I think they're both amazing guitarists. I'm used to Tomo as a subscriber and just seeing Neal for the first time. Different in some unique little traits but both just amazing. Thanks Tomo, nice to meet you Neal (?) very up tempo fun little jam session, I thoroughly enjoyed that. 🎸☮️❤️🙏
