Dear Dr. Gardner, I did not see in this discussion and in recent review articles informations about PRAME antibody and its applications in the evaluation of melanocytic skin lesions. We used it since about one year in our center. In almost all cases the reactions are compatible with our histopathological interpretations. In particular this marker is helpful for evaluation of nature of intradermal component in an atypical melanocytic lesion (preexisting nevus cells with reactive changes vs. dermal invasion of malignant melanoma) and for the evaluation of surgical margins in the case of excision of a lentigo maligna. What is your experience with this marker? Do you have any comment about that? Would you please to introduce me some recent publications discussing the applications and limitations of this marker in the evaluation of atypical melanocytic lesions?

I’ve been using PRAME for about a year now. Still getting a feel for it. Perhaps I’ll make a video about it at some point in figure. I see rare or patchy PRAME in many lesions that we end up deciding are nevi not melanoma. And I’ve seen a few obvious melanoma that were PRAME negative. But in select cases it can be very useful. I believe dermpedia had a course last year about PRAME I think Klaus Busam was speaker. They might still have video available on their website.
