This song came out when i was 18 in 1976 i was going out with my first boyfriend we got engaged when i was 17 in 1975 and this song saids it all it was the real thing to me but unfortunately we broke up that same year in 1977 when i was 19 i met someone else we got in engaged when i was 20 and we got married in 1980 when i was 22 although i would never forget my first true love there is another song right back to where we started from by Maxine Nghtgale also meant alot to me too love both these songs

This song has so much energy and passion and of course was part of that fabulous 1976 'invasion' of our British charts of soul and disco artists. Why then is the lovely Melba so reserved on this performance. The audience are of course as always so fabulously cool and wonderful. Love, love love this song.

Lord have mercy, how I use to steps to this song on the disco floor in Jamaica in my young days. Melba Moore "Stepped into my Life and I was Oh so happy." I "Lean on Me" and found out what's on "The other side of the Rainbow." The good old days with the incomparable Melba, holding her notes for about 36 seconds at the end of both songs.

Before '79 or so every major studio production would have full string and brass sections. That's why recordings from the 70's sounded so organic and rich. A couple of years later synths took over and made live orchestration impractical. I used to hate the BeeGees back in the day, but looking back now from this wasteland of contemporary 'music', boy, that rich, warm sound of 'Stayin' Alive'!
