What is amazing about the discus is that it was described in Homer's Odyssey. It is such an ancient display of power.

One day I hope to go to the Olympics! I do track and field. I'm good at sprints and long jump and hurdles and also middle distance races. My inspiration is Usain Bolt, Mo Farah And Jesse Owens.

Josh Bradley With that kind of skillset maybe you'd like to look into becoming a multi-event athlete and compete in the Decathlon/Heptathlon.

HazenMire I never really thought of that. But I do like to try new things, so I'll try it out

Josh Bradley Stay dedicated man and any dream can come true, hard work will pay off but don't ever give up, no matter how much it hurts or how difficult the training is. Be the best, keep in mind that while you are relaxing someone else might be putting in those extra hours, even minutes, training... Stay positive

Thanks MrRazmuss That really made my day, I do train daily whether I'm exercising or working on the specific event. I really appreciate those inspirational words.

19:12 “All their lives, they’ll enjoy telling their children how they represented their small country in the Olympic Games in Australia, 1956.” This hit pretty hard considering over 64 years passed

How does one go to the Olympics exactly? I mean do you have to sign up or do the people from the Olympics like how good you are and enter you in?

If you have to ask you aren't good enough. Your country will contact you and invite you to compete at the Olympic trials at which you will have to surpass an Olympic standard, whether that is a time or a distance. Good luck man

You compete is some meets. If you're an American and your best time or distance meets a certain standard, you can compete in the U.S. Olympic Trials. If you place in the top three in your event in the Olympic Trials and your best time/distance also meets the standard set by the International Olympic Committee, you're on the U.S. Olympic team. and you'll compete at the Olympics. Countries other than the U.S. have their own methods of selecting who represents them at the Olympics. Those methods are generally based on your competitive record.
