There was a faction of Bulldog supporters that tried to turn their club into a political force, with a middle eastern flavour. I went to many Bulldog matches back in the day at Belmore, so many Middle Eastern flags being flown, especially Lebanese, Syrian and the fractured Palestinian flags. There was always trouble at those games, it reminded of what Australian club soccer used to be like. To the Bulldogs credit, they were proactive in cleaning up that mess. Still don't like the club, but you only you have one team to really support.
