Melbourne W5 class tram - almost entirely 3D printed!

A while back I started experimenting with building 1:24 scale trains and trams using almost entirely 3D printed parts. The W5 class tram was an early prototype for testing a lot of the construction methods. There are quite a few things about it that I will change in future versions, but that's the big advantage of 3D printing, you can afford to make prototypes and test different ideas. Here the W class goes for a run on a warm summer afternoon.
The Eltham South Electric Tramway is a 1:24 scale, 45mm gauge garden tramway, powered by 32v live overhead.

It isn't quite as refined as it could be, since in the original design it was only really intended for viewing from the outside. In future I'll try to pay more attention to the interior detail, especially for stuff like the wire runs inside the roof.

During the past year, I believe you've changed the grade crossing for full size humans (seen at 0:39) which used to not have the removable metal structure. Did an incident occur there, or did you just feel like upgrading?

The current arrangement has been in place for quite a while now, though maybe not shown. Previously there was just a removable section of wire, but that was more annoying to put in place. Now it is a hinged section that folds down, much quicker and more convenient.

Wow! Are you making the files available commercially? I'd love a go at printing those tram ends. The roof ends look good too. Are they 3d printed too?
