Cricket is a dying sport in australia while afl is a thriving one. 99% of cricket fans here are immigrants from india, in schools cricket isnt played. Cricket is dying and we need to accept that its just not feasible to give it to the cricket board

Yes, AFL is played in winter which is a popular sport in Australia and cricket in summer. Out of which 1x boxing day test, 1x one day match and 1x 20/20 is played. Some big bash games and that's it. So not much cricket even though it's called MCG. Whereas for AFL at least 1 to 2 games per week are played from march through to september.

Cricket is good but Afl is most popular sport in Australia and this stadium is highlight of sport, with crowds of 50,000 -100,000 almost every game across 22 weeks, What does cricket do? 1 Test match and couple limited games at most each year, Drop In pitches good enough.

asian loves classical games and that is cricket the best game in the world..in India 52 international cricket stadiums which are 90,65,55,60,50 thousands capacity almost every stadium..and the 5 upcoming Cricket stadiums will more bigger and more facilitated.. motera stadium that will be 110000 capacity then mcg will lose it's appeal cause Motera stadium will use only for the only and one classy game CRICKET.. it will not use for LOL game like football and other sports..

@@ahsanhabib8917 the MCG will never lose its appeal. Its holds tradition here in Australia in both Cricket and AFL, which have been played there for over 150 years. People come from all over the world just to watch a game there. No new 110 or 120000 seat stadium elsewhere in the world will change that.
