Recuerdo... De Howard Davis se esperaba más, por todo lo que hizo en las olimpiadas, pero no dio la talla en lo profesional, no tenía ese instinto asesino que tienen los campeones. Recursos boxisticos, los tenía de sobra, pero le faltó esa ambición vertical. No estaba direccionado a buscar la gloria. Se quedó en promesas, para lo que él no tenía espíritu. Se asustó que lo derribarán. Llegó al box profesional por inercia, pues no tenía la ambición. Le faltó ese espíritu callejero. Picardía. Picardía que debió tener su mánager o su entrenador, era demasiado fino y elegante para que no llegara a donde estaba destinado.

I had it 6-3-1 for Taylor IMO he did a little extra work to win rounds. Good fight.

The judges got it right, for once, great fight, both fighters gave their all. They were evenly matched and a draw was a fair result. You hate to see a loser when both men performed brilliantly.

Davis really took advantage of all the mistakes Taylor was making at this point in his career real good close fight.

Howard Davis danced & moved around in some of the later rounds, maybe with the intention of having lots of energy left for the 10th. It may have hurt him on the score cards. We saw a more professional style from Davis through the first part of the fight however. If he fought Jim Watt that way he would have won that world title.

+Methadone4Life I didn't realize that Howard was such a big lightweight. He is listed at 5'8" with a 72.5" reach by boxrec, Taylor is listed as 5'7.5" with a 66" reach. I believe the tale of the tape here more than boxing boxrec, with Howard being listed as 5'9" and Taylor as 5'6". No way in hell Taylor is 5'7.5".
