Thank you, gerdo, that was helpful! I didn't have a look at the new system myself yet, and this gives me a really good overview. I really like the look of it! I was worried about the randomized stats being a pain in the ass for me, but it's really not that bad, since you can reroll and even keep the previous stats if you want to! Keeping that in mind, yes, you can compare this new addition to the game as something similar to meowfficers, but it's not even close to as grindy as the meowfficers. I'd know, after having unpacked like 10,000,000 cat boxes and getting 95% unusable crap, even from SSR cat boxes... and I'm not going to settle for anything less than "super good" if I want them to go to Lv30 (which takes an eternity, and only recently got a bit less insane with the addition of the meowfficer dorm). Once again, thank you, gerdo! I'm excited to dive into this new augment module system! 😊😎

what do you mean? each gold melee is a reference in and of itself to the ship it belongs, I-58's one being the least recognisable

I think they add another layer of complexity to the game and the buffs that the golden gear provides seem to give back relevance to ships that need it. Additionally, they don't seem busted or power crept which I appreciate. Just a nice little boost for min-max when players reach mid to end game content.

My take is that this isnt at all similar to meowfficers. I heard the same from kimocheese and others, but its not similar at all. Cats provides stats buff to all ship while this is individual. i believe that this is a way to buff ships that cannot be buffed (i.e. PR ship most likely cant retrofit, retrofitted ships that cant be retrofitted again like Nevada class, or simply to curb retrofits as the only way to introduce a significant buff/rework to a ship without outright retcons)

The exp stuff drops on maps. The actual building mats are right now the weekly raid. Thankfully the lvl 75 version is actually pretty easy. Does make a bit of a bottleneck though. Especially when you're trying to equip six separate fleets though.

While the unique modules improve those ships it doesn't seem like it's going to make them relevant. From what I was reading about Prinz one it just doesn't do enough. Unless you just want to use her for the sake of it there are already plenty of ships that are better than her even older ones like Baltimore.

Shocker bigger numbers make game easier. I bet you're the type to complain regardless of the weather. Besides what are you complaining about. A meta only matters in a pvp game. The closest thing to pvp Azur Lane has is exercises. And people only do that for the merit shop rewards. No one takes it seriously.
