You are a LIFE SAVER!! I've been looking for an exercise like this for MONTHS! I've tried SO many with absolutely NO difference in my vocal cracking until I finally stumbled upon your exercise! I think the difference had been, other exercises have you belt it out, while yours encourages a gentle flow. It reminds me of the difference between body builders and those who build healthy muscle with gradual weight training. The body builder will lose his muscle MUCH faster if he stops working out compared to the gradual (healthy muscled, not scar tissue) weight trainer! This gave me a beautiful glide through my most problematic areas (I have a very wide vocal range from singing opera, so I have mid cracking and lower voice crack) and I am really excited to have found your exercises! Thanks!
@melimusiclessons6 жыл бұрын
Rebekah J hi ! I’m so so glad to hear this ! And I love your comparison with body builders and healthy muscle Gain ! I agree completely ! Your vocal chords have a set of muscles that need to be trained in a healthy manner . Thanks again ! And I’m not an opera singer , but if u wanna share some tips with our community that would be great ❤️

Thank you for your videos. Because of pandemic, I have lost 22 gigs in 6 months. I have not sung live, but doing a virtual live show with 16 songs tomorrow , Sunday, August, 23rd and one Friday, August 28th. My voice is weak and cracking. My selection of songs are a mixture of Blues, Jazz, Standards, Country and Latin. I must say I fair better in Latin tunes, because of all the vowels. P. S. I am not a trained vocalist and have been singing professionally since 1975.

You may want to try and use your chest voice up to middle C or D and then gradually switch to head voice while maintaining a narrow ombuchure during the passagio. I was told to switch early by a teacher so the transition would be easier but I took that advice and applied it 2 notes too early, that is, 2 notes below middle D and I just couldn't sing any song fully to my satisfaction since most songs pass through the middle C and D and back and forth quite often and my voice would sound half good and half bad. I was stuck with this for the past 5 years without realizing that I could go 2 more notes in my chest voice without much struggle until I started to sing on Smule a few months ago! Lately I have started to practise and get my chest voice upto middle D. With proper breath support and technique it may take me a while to build muscle memory but I think that's worth trying rather than singing in a dual, incomplete voice!!! Good Luck!!!

I’ve listened to many vocal teachers and lessons in which some are very professional and can deliver opera like power, u are the first one who can sing and also have and in depth knowledge of the working vocal chords anatomy. I find it a little disconcerting that most of them don’t even know ! I think it’s very important. Just because you can sing really well , does not necessarily mean you are qualified to teach ! Many students are probably hurting there throats because of this lack of knowledge ! A student should not know more than his teacher, in my humble opinion !
@st144 жыл бұрын
For the second exercise, I think it would be a bit simpler to raise the third-last note by a semitone. So in C major, instead finishing e,d,c you could finish f,d,c. This would give you a nice harmonic resolution of V7 to I. Which in C major would be G7 to C. You could use you left hand to play the bass line of I, V, III, V, I. Which in C would be C, G, E, G, C, where on E we have a minor chord and on the second G a 7 chord. Your left hand fingers are already in the correct position, you could use them. That would help the student stay on pitch, I think. Probably would not make much difference for the vocal production?

I often feel like I struggle to understand, but not here. Insted of lowering my motivation, i felt for first Greatly motivated and its maybe not impossible that i was starting to feel this last year. Instant improvement, never felt that before. I found this channel last night, so i have only look though a few videos, i havnt really made full effort becuse i felt little bit soarnes from earlier. Nothing though when i followed your instructions. But thought maybe is better so just wait where its a bit risky and wait a Day and then follow trough better. But let me tell You, i recorded my self singing love yourself earlier, then i tried The same song today. I cant belive it made so mutch difference for me. I love to sing a lot of 90s stuff. All of my favorite singers are the screamers at the top of their game. Sebastian Bach Chris Cornell Rob halford. I can pull off about 90% of the stuff but there's certain things I've just never been able to attain. And I have struggled for years with my voice cracking and doing odd ball stuff. But that's also very challenging stuff to sing. I also seem to have problems with having enough air to carry the note out. I have struggled with allergies my whole life and that doesn't help. I have the range but just need to tweak a few things.

I think cracks occurs always near the passagio , mostly in "e" and "u" vowels singed after the consonants, or after other vowels, for example the "le" and "lu" "Ay" , "iu" . I think is has to do with the tongue movement and position, and this problem is hard to be fixed practicing isolated vowels exercises. It is my problem and I would like to know your thoughts about it. Thank you!
