A review nobody asked for (SPOILERS) TLDR: Original and absolutely worth the watch It was a really strange series. Considering the time period. It avoided a lot of cliches but leaned in the worst. 'The protagonist keeps running towards the problems instead of away' Also the music was strange. I avoid a lot of black and white movies because of the bombastic orchestra music that makes it difficult to fall asleep. This one has the typical 'romance is afoot' music instead.😂 It was really confusing to me, and I thought maybe I just wasn't paying attention, but then I realised I just couldn't follow the protagonist reasoning. He was obviously set up but just kept walking into one trap after the other. But that's they way they keep making 'suspense' until this day. I call it annoyance and it didn't end untill the last episode where he set the trap. Even that one didn't make sense. You got police involved in the trap in the room next door, telephone ringing and nobody answering, yet the police were oblivion for the ultimate suspense build up? Bonus, how easy the father got over the death of his daughter and how casually the detective mentioned she was an addict. Talk about stiff upper lip! So typical of British detectives, no time for tears, let's get right to sleuthing!😂
