I vaguely remember seeing this when I was young, I’d be about 8. Great cast. I love anything Patricia Hayes is in .

I used to like Charles Dance. I still admire him as an actor - but then I found out he's a rabid, left wing, Hamas supporting scoundrel. I can't respect anyone with those obnoxious viewpoints - no matter how good he is at his craft.

The greatest standup in the English language. Over fifty years making people laugh and still making us laugh 30 years after his death. RIP Sir Francis of Howerd. ❤

I recall viewing this years ago. The Young Mr Wignal character reminds me of some of the personalities I used to observe in a trendy bar in a certain Lancashire town during the 70s. Nostalgic fun indeed...

The actress playing Madge at about 39 mins in, Maggie Jones, played Deidre Barlow's mother Blanche in over 800 eps of Coronation Street. Her first appearance as Blanche was in 1974, she was in fact a replacement for Patricia Cutts who played Blanche for just 2 episodes before she took her own life aged 48.

The second of a short season of Wednesday night single dramas from Granada, 'Three Plays For ITV'. Shown in between 'Heydays Hotel' by Philip Purser and 'The Launderette' by Patrick Carter. After fifteen years in comedy, this play was David Nobbs' first drama production for British television.

Were there any clues leading up to the uncovering of the person behind all this. The inspector just comes up with his name and all the reasons with no proof. And if Thelma passed out near the stairs, why were her eyes wide open when Diana saw her?
