I looked through my old synopses. This scene aired in June 1973, during the WGA strike. Linda Bove and Mary Stuart likely rewrote their dialogue and freshened the scene. It’s quite well done.

This was such a special storyline on the show. Idk of any other soap that had deaf actors on it before or after.

I believe there was a deaf character, Abby, on Guiding Light in the mid 90s who Reva lived with in an Amish community. She brought Abby back to Springfield with her when she came back from the dead for treatment, and the character married Rick Bauer.
