This is a midterm grade saver, my chem prof loves to do this thing where she will make up elements for an equation and have us balance them. I guess she does it because she's dealt with cheating in the past but I'll see something like balance Ju3Gh7+Uj9 = blah blah and I am like, really now?

QUESTION! after you rewrite the entire chem. equation--- do you balance them again? or leave the new chemical equation written out as the completed answer... I'm assuming you have to keep going until you balance them.

Is there a place I can find NH4OH+H3PO4 -> (NH4)3PO4+H20 worked out without doing the polyatomic ion trick? I'd like to see just how many more steps there are and just the difference between doing it both ways!

Im confused, if you got 13 from the last problem on the reactant side. Then wouldn't that make it 26, which wouldn't balance out with the 13 on the right.

You're going to run into problems using the polyatomic method balancing for hydroxyl combustion reactions. (C2H5OH+02-->CO2+HOH) At least i did, unless I'm just doing something wrong.

An easier method is just to assume coefficients and make equations to solve them .

@@melissamaribel My teacher teaches a lot of the theory and concepts in Chem 1, but doesn't give a whole lot of example problems. So, for example, the gas laws, I know the formulas but can't always figure out how to use them in my ALEKS homework and on the test. Also, we are covering solution stoichiometry, freezing points, and depressions and I am having a hard time with those topics. We just started reactions and equilibrium and I don't understand how to do those problems.
