You're a great resource to the students of the world. I'm a mature learner. All my life I thought that math and science was always going to be out of reach until I realized that I was actually struggling with ADD. You have such a clear voice and teach with understanding and Melissa echoes my thoughts frequently. It also helps that you're on KZbin as I can pause and replay on demand. Thank you so much. The world runs at such a fast pace at this age but you make it possible to learn.

Seriously, like... I stress out so much trying to digest the info in this online Chem class, then I find your videos and the material is suddenly so easy. These tutor videos help SO MUCH. I got a B+ on my midterm, gearing up for at least that on the final in a couple weeks. If it wasn't for you, I would've had to drop out of this class and second-guess my dream of grad school. Thank you so much Melissa.

Thank god I found this, in my class (my teacher is smart but he's the kind of smart where he expects you to just understand whenever he says something lol.not very helpful) we learned this but my teacher just put the 1s and so on on the board and was like "this is how its supposed to be" and then just starts putting arrows as electrons and being like "alright cool, i think we got it" and i didnt get it xD He didnt mention the periodic table twice (meaning he mentioned it once to tell us how to count the electrons and thats it. We did not learn this trick!). So thank you :'-)

This was so well explained and after a week of complete confusion and many classmates, videos and my teacher trying to explain it, I finally get it thanks to you! I do have two questions though: 1. on your period table you have 57 to 70 and 89 to 102 as the f block, but on every other one i have seen on google, they have 58 to 71 and 90 to 103 as the f block... does that matter? 2. I tried doing gold (Au) the way you explainedit and ended up with (Xe) 6s2 4f10 5d9 but then when i checked the answer it said (Xe) 4f14 5d10 6s1, which completely confuses me as it doesnt make sense in the way you explained it.

Au is an exception so it has slightly different properties and then, therefore, a different configuration...I feel that she does a really good job explaining the basics of the material, however, most profs ask much more complex questions, just make sure you don't rely totally on this video.
