Great video! Happy you enjoyed it. We understand what you mean about the rough roads. The 90mm are finally available! The remote stays connected to the drive every time you turn it on with the new software update.

Would love to try the 90mm!

+Mellow Boards Do you guys have any plans for Kick To Start? Having to turn over the board to press a button adds friction.

hey mellow, where can I get the 90mm in USA?

@Sonny Ashton Ehh atm I've been using Flixportal. Just search on google after it:P -finn

Man, 8km range is just about 5 miles. I'd need to carry 3-4 batteries for the range I want. And that would send the total price into the sky. As for the hardware lasting -- well, we don't know if they'd wind up improving the motors or the battery or the ESC each year, making something bought today look old and weak. I'd rather risk less money on an Onan or DIYeboards kit or even a Landwheel. Otherwise, great video. Thanks.

Well they have a good guarantee but yes i only tested it for a few weeks! thanks :)

Look at the Lacroix board before you do anything crazy like blow 2 grand on this thing.

Great review man. It was only as short as a basic TED talk, but the way you edited the video and structured the video I felt like I was watching a top gear show for e-boards. Great video!

It's a very cool system but not for $2600. That thing is Insanely overpriced. You could get LaCroix Board for $2400.

Id only pay that much if it came with an extra battery

Agree - just learned about LaCroix boards. not as portable but they look so insanely better in all other categories at this price I would def. take a deep look at one.

Great fair and honest review ESK8r! One thing I must mention is that the Mellow Drive is easy to attach to the board :-)

Oh my baby 😍, I luv it, I've it since months and use to commute to work, there's no comparison with the others for reliability, quality and durability, sell your scooter and buy a Mellow, it's worth the money!

I have the impression the hill test was made in eco mode. Probably you didn't unlock pro mode before to do it. Having the mellow, I guarantee you it has some serious kick going uphill
@eSk8r6 жыл бұрын
It was in pro mode but the hill was very steep

I Know the Germans build some of the best stuff but it's just so expensive. And JED boards is coming out with their drive, which is gear powered and has almost as many features with Tesla batteries ect ect... For $1,199, "board included"..... I don't know.. If only it was less expensive.
@getabeautifulsmile6 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Germans do! In the case of Mellow Boards, they offer great customer support from what I have heard which for me I would rather pay for a peace of mind.
@Johennessy6 жыл бұрын
Having gears ist not an improvement bro... its a downgrade... the mellowboard is based on texas instaspin mode... that means no gears no hall sensors and full motiin controll... that means this board is able to have all kind of softwareupgrades and the possabilty of hardwarefailures like a broken gear ist downgreaded to the only needed features.
@stefan0man3016 жыл бұрын
Johennessy , it's just a BLDC motor wrapped in urethane. Gears like E-Toxx," German designed", and JED boards use outboard BLDC motors, and have FAR less drag, less resistance and can also be programmed AND you can change the gear ratio for more torque or power. Trampa boards with e-tox eat these for breakfast. And Jed boards is also superior. Check out the videos, forums, Reddit, and websites.
@Johennessy6 жыл бұрын
Stefan0man i get ur point... it still is a diffrent concept... u dont want gears in a system like mellowboards... of course it is a bldc motor but it is one that was build for the desinged power electronics... so u can get the best efficency for the designe. The abilty to swap the wheels is a next point why u need custom made motors. So in case of the mellowboard its about the smalest possible design with the best giving results... u just have the blcd's forced by the custom designed power electronics regulated by the texas instaspin software... which is one of the best regulation softwares u can get for blcds... so its not about the get the hardest pushing board its abozt the efficency and the space-weight-performance ratio... u want to break it down to whats need. But if u want full drag u get the evolve and u good to go.
@stefan0man3016 жыл бұрын
I'm staying away from evolve, they have been having so many problems it's crazy. And I still like hub motors, I am waiting on a raptor 2.1. You can always change the programming in any board just about if you like. And efficiently is what Jed boards at least is all about, they only use 16 Tesla batteries for 18 miles range. Just imagine the heavy pull and torque acceleration from evolve but with almost 0 drag, For 1000 dollars. That's all. And I'm sure mellow boards are great, I just can't understand the price. Like, after you get everything plus a few swappable battery packs it will be around 3000 dollars. I just think the price point is too high is all.
@kendallestevenson5016 жыл бұрын
2,600? I can get me a car then
@wrliggin26 жыл бұрын
Great really comprehensive review but that is definitely not worth 2600$. My wowgo 2s has 14 mile range, can push me up 25% grade hill, and costs less than a quarter of that. It's unbelievable that they will charge over 2k. Regardless, solid review👌

From what I hear about Mellow Boards customer support and how helpful Alexis de Tarade is in the Electric Skateboard Club on Facebook, bit.ly/2zqsVqA. I feel that it's worth the money.
@2dthoughts6 жыл бұрын
Sookie S not worth it to me My diyboard cost me about a grand with switchable street to all terrain setup, 10s5p 30q battery, top speed over 30mph and a 20+ mile range with the all terrain wheels on. Nearly double the range with street wheels, but I don’t think I’ll ever need to ride that far.
@mikecane6 жыл бұрын
+2dthoughts Agreed!
@Aponhcet6 жыл бұрын
5miles range is suuuuuper low end. I have a mellow and I usually have in 10km in pro mode out of this battery. If you ride eco or endless, I already had 15km.
@2dthoughts6 жыл бұрын
Pierre Charlier 15km is super low end for that price tag
@mattwhite94726 жыл бұрын
I just can't see any advantage that this thing offers to make it worth this price. It's not all that fast, it doesn't have good range or choice of wheels. I'm having a really hard time seeing over 2 grand of value in this thing when a board like the Lacroix is available which absolutely destroys it in all categories.

1 year later... and this thing is complete utter trash. The board i paid for $899 with shipping included has 17 to 23 miles of range, max speed 28 miles, 96mm wheels, holy fuck.
@fuuz6426 жыл бұрын
nah, the range of this board is just laughable. for that price I'll go for a raptor 2 any day of the week (as soon as they come up with a bigger wheels options that is, as I probably will never use no wheels that are smaller than 107mm )
@Omegawerewolfx6 жыл бұрын
